10 days of work available
2 Days off sick
I know this person has been at work for 80% of the time.
What calc to I use to get to this?
2/10 = 0.2

One is by decimal:
= 100%([10 - 2]/10)
= 100%(8/10)
= 100%(0.8)
= 80%
Another by fraction:
= 100%([10 - 2]/10)
= 100%(8/10)
= 100%([8/2]/[10/2)
= 100%(4/5)
= 400/5% or 80%
Answer: Those are the fastest ways and without resorting to any variable representation.

total days - absent days==> worked days
10-2 = 8
now think 8 is a% of 10
or
8 = a% x 10
=> a % x 10 = 8
=> (a/100) x 10 = 8
or
a = (8 x 100) / 10
a = 80 %
u understand buddy?

10 days take away 2 days off sick leaves you with 8 days left of work.
Hence 8/10 x 100 = 80%

100 divided by the total amount of days times the amount of days at work, ie.
100/10 * 8 = 80%

divide 8 by 10 and you'll get 0.8.Now multiply 0.8 by 100 and you'll get 80 and now put a percent mark on it
