Seedlings touching cover, time for lights?
I am growing Roma tomatoes and Big Boy Tomatoes. The Roma tomato seedlings are touching the cover of my Jiffy tray, but the Big Boy tomatoes haven't even broke the surface. The Roma seedlings only have their seedling leave, not true leaves.
should I keep the cover on or off? lights now or wait till true leaves come?

Sounds like time to take the cover off the Romas - or are they in the same tray? If they are touching the cover, they need the lights on them. Can you slide the cover off the Romas and keep it on the Big Boys? It helps so much with the moisture, is the reason I would want to keep the cover on the ones that haven't sprouted. But once they sprout, too much moisture is a bad thing.
I always use lights and think it is important to keep them from getting leggy.

I would go ahead and pull the cover. Keep a squirt bottle nearby and mist regularly to keep the humidity up. I don't know about the grow lamps. I start my seeds in a sunny south facing window.
