How Do You Feel About the Brits Being Incensed at the Bogus "gifts" OBAMA gave the P.M.? DVD's?

Any of our British friends --- I'd like to know if this affects your love for the Obaminator as well.

I'm f'in EMBARRASSED!

Update:

They gave US some GOOD stuff - the "pen holder" was actually a pen made from the wood of a ship that fought in the Revolution. I happen to think that's cool...

Yes, Obama's desk is made from the wood of the same ship. I would be emberassed to give DVDs to my cousin. Does Obama not know they have TVs and DVDs in Brittain?

Alas Obama cannot keep his gift which was a fine and thoughtful gift. Alas, the prime minister can keep his crappy CDs since the gift isn't worth 140 pounds or the cost of the DVDs they were copied to.

You know that they (the Obama cultists) aren't going to care. If it was Bush or any other Republican they would be having a fit. But, since it's their messiah they will all think that it was the greatest gift ever given.

I bet that the DVDs were all region 1 (for play in the United States) and won't even work in their DVD players (region 2 for Britain).

At least a Republican would have been smart enough to get DVDs with the right region code if he/she was going to be trashy enough to do this.

In light of this article, written last July, about Gordon Brown's first visit to the U.S. as Prime Minister, I believe what our President did is f'in hilarious. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politic...

    Excerpt:

The list of gifts received by government ministers in the last year, which they are required to declare if the value is estimated at more than £140, shows that Mr Brown chose not to exercise the option of keeping the presidential present.

Ministers are only allowed to retain gifts received in the course of their ministerial duties if they recompense the public purse to the appropriate value.

While Tony Blair, Mr Brown's predecessor, purchased a picture worth £500 given to him by Mr Bush, the gift of a "leather holdall / clothing" given to the new Prime Minister a few months later is said to have been "held by the department".

In fact, the change of regime at No 10 appears to have marked an end to the practice of exchanging gifts with world leaders.

EDIT: Prime Minister Brown doesn't want gifts, apparently.
