On my credit report it says....?
Account status: Closed, it says this on all of the accounts evan a recent one, one that was put on my credit last month. There are 8 accounts. This just recently happened, why did this happen? I called regarding disputing an account and told them I'm on disability (which is true) could this be why? Does this mean they will no longer try to collect on the accounts?

Judy - that's not necessarily true. My partner is on disability and he has a number of credit cards. None of them have been closed - some of which he has not used in years, so being on disability is not the reason - in fact, I think that would be discrimination.
On your credit report, there should be a reason why the account was closed - usually in one or two words to the right of or just below the account name, number & status. If there isn't, make a copy and write a letter to the Credit Bureau asking them to advise why the account was closed. Or - you can contact the company or bank that held the account & ask them. No matter the reason, they cannot deny you credit because you are on disability.
Good luck, because the only other possible thing I can think of would be that someone has your identity - scary.

Discover just sent me one of their little slips.
I forgot the exact wording, but they said that you can not use the card if you are collecting unemployment, on disability, and some other things.
Somehow the credit bureaus found out that you are on disability.
They would only know if you told any one of your creditors.
The creditor immediately reports your status to the credit reports.
