What do you call it when?

Your wife has an obsession with filling every square foot of a room/wall/patio/backyard with things? Yes all the things sound reasonable when you ask her and there is no convincing otherwise.

Update:

Due to the responses, I looked up complusive hoarding...and she ain't as bad as the pictures. It's not necessarily messy, but a empty space gets filled with something.

Hoarding is an aspect of OCD. Your wife may want to see a professional an d possibly consider medication. Hoarding isn't terrible, but it can get to the point where it is a serious issue. It is up to you and your wife to decide what point that is.

ETA: Like OCD, hoarding has different levels. Your wife may not be at the extreme level that they show in the pictures, but it definitely does sound like she has hoarding behaviors. While not super serious, it is still something to look at together and to consider talking to your doctor about.
