Drink a lot of water. It seems counterintuitive but water is a natural diuretic when you drink enough of it. Stay away from processed, fast foods and other high sodium foods, and also alcohol. The salt is what causes you to retain water. Eat a lot of fruits and veggies and high fiber foods.
However, some women just have a tendency to retain water, especially during that time of the month. It is due to hormonal fluctuations. During these times, a mild diuretic may help you. The local pharmacist should be able to recommend an over the counter one that is safe to use. Some PMS medicines like Midol also contain diuretics. If this still doesn't help, consult a doctor. You may benefit from a stronger diuretic.

20 pounds of water is A LOT. You need to consult a physician. Avoid salty foods, sodas and junk foods. These are high in sodium and also dehydrate you (forcing your body to store more water).
If you were healthy I would recommend that you drink water when you are not bloating -- it teaches your body that it doesn't have to store water. Many people don't realize it but they are dehydrated most of the time. As a result their bodies 'hoard' that water. If you drink 8 8oz glasses of water or more a day, 1) you flush sodium out of your system which reduces water retention and 2) your body realizes in a few days that it no longer has to 'hoard' water and you'll be making more trips to the potty for a while.
A good way to determine whether you are dehydrated or not is the color of your urine. If it's clear, then you're doing a good job of staying hydrated.

Are you eating a lot of salty foods, high sodium foods. These types of foods make you retain water, and are you spreading out the time in which you are drinking water throughout the day? Otherwise, you may be allergic to something you are taking in.
I would say en corporate a glass of cranberry juice in your day. Cranberries are effective in cleansing the bladder. Also, Milk Thistle is a supplement in which can be taken to maintain the functioning of your liver.

Have you talked to your doctor about this...they may be able to help. After all they must have studied alot and probably have had more medical experience then all these people on yahoo answers. So ring up your doctors make a appointment as soon as possible and if the appointment seems too far away ask if you could speak to a doctor for a few minutes.....
Hpe this helped....

Avoid salt - fast food, junk food and restaurant food is all loaded with salt. There are probably natural diuretic pills at the health food store - I have never tried any.

Go bland. Plain, easy, unseasoned food such as smoked chicken, plain rice and a nude baked potato are nutritious however your palette will tire of these quickly, unlike salty moreish ready-made food, which keeps you snacking and piling for the pounds.
