Why am i considered hateful, ignorant, bigoted, and close minded for hating Islam?

Ive heard Atheists say how much they HATE Christianity, but the minute i agree, and say "yeah, what about islam? i hate that religion even more.", i'm labeled as ignorant and intolerant.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciOGS6r97oE&feature...

She pretty sums up what i have to say about Islam.

Not even Christianity advocates murder and terrorism.

Yes yes! i know that not every Muslim agrees with murder! But they are still taught that these terrorists are brave warriors and will be blessed in heaven with 40 virgins. No one can deny the pedestal that terrorism is placed upon in Islamic teachings.

I wont even go into the oppression it teaches of women.

So.. why am i a hateful person, for hating hateful teachings? Go figure

Update:

NOTE: I do not hate individual muslims.

I don't accept any deity having a place in my life.

*agnostic.

Update 2:

It really shocks me that your calling me a bigot. Talk about judging before you know me, just the reason you are calling ME a bigot. Im probably as far as you can get from bigoted. I apoligize for hating hateful teachings, but i am unashamed.

I used to lecture my chrisitian father for hating Islam, but i cant help but agree.

Update 3:

Yes, i have read scriptures out of the Qur'an. They changed my beliefs. I used to say "hate the terroist, not the belief". So i catch your drift.

People have a right to fight back against incoming Islmamic aggression and I support your right to speak freely and not succomb to political correctness. People use our Western laws and ideologies against us and people just need more education on this matter. I don't have issues with people I have issues with the ideology that is such violently rampant. There are muslims out there that don't support Islamic hateful ideology but I'm not going to shield their feelings when I'm faced with the threat of physical danger I'm going to defend my rights. I have faith that good people can survive these attacks.

I want to remind others that America seceded from Britain because of religious tolerance issues. NEVER did our democratic religious tolerance values infer that we remain passive in the threat of an incoming hostile religion. America was founded on quite the opposite. When people are passive in the threat of an incoming hostile religion it just gives the aggressive religion red carpet treatment to walk all over us and do a hostile takeover from within. Westerners are waking up to these facts. We are both fighting foreign and domestic wars against Islamofascism.

The Escalation of the Conflict During Ahmadinejad's Presidency

With Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's rise to power in 2005, the conflict reemerged, with greater intensity. Ahmadinejad reverted to Iran's previous policy of anti-Saudi hegemony, by pushing the export of the revolution, and promoting a messianic Shi'ite vision that stresses the imminent appearance of the Mahdi and the reestablishment of the great Persian Empire. In his second television appearance following his election, he said: "The message of the [Islamic] Revolution is global, and not restricted to a specific time or place. It is a human message, and it will move forward. Have no doubt... Allah willing, Islam will conquer. Islam will conquer what? It will conquer all the mountaintops of the world." [6]

    Muslim = Jihadist = Terrorist

Jihadist - a 9/11, 7/7 or other suicide bomber in plane, subway, bus or bulldozer transportation of their choice on any continent of their choice. Also means "one that struggles with infidel." The silent majority of Muslims support their extremists by their lack of struggle to confront them. This is supported in Quran http://www.answering-islam.org/Quran/Themes/jihad_...

I don't think most of the answerers even watched the video.

Someone taught those terrorists and extremist Muslims to kill people and destroy buildings, and those "someones" are also Islamic. It would be different if some terrorists were atheists or Christians, or Buddhists, but they're not- they ALL Muslims! That naturally brings into question the Islamic teachings and mindset.

Am I saying that all Muslims are terrorists? No, of course not!

But it is true that relatively all terrorists are Muslims!

It's because they cannot separate who they are from the religion of Islam.

    You wanna hear something interesting?

Everyone calls me a "Muslim-hater" because I ask controversial and somewhat provocative questions...and my answers are definitely not pro-Islamic...

But I do NOT call people names, or make rude comments about their mothers, or send them hateful emails, or tell people that they are stupid.

Instead, I have had Muslims tell me that I am an idiot, stupid, uneducated, a bad mother, a bad wife, and just plain evil.

I was definitely one of those people who always said that terrorists were the ones taking their holy scriptures out of context. And then...I purchased a Quran. My viewpoint somewhat changed. But I decided to go with the flow...and investigated the Hadith and the works of Muhammad's earliest biographers (Ibn Ishaq & Al-Tabari). Oh boy. That's when I realized that the terrorists are simply following Islam like it was being followed in the 7th & 8th centuries....(and even later I'd suspect.)

Oh, and want to know something else? I get bashed by Muslims on Yahoo Answers, but do you know how many of them have struck up private email and IM conversations to talk about things they could NEVER talk about with a "self-respecting, pious, righteous" Muslimah? The LAST thing I'm going to tell a Muslim who wants to talk about something personal, private, and maybe even embarrassing is that they are sinning and should pray more and repent more and talk to a scholar.

The main reason you are given those labels is to shut you up. No one wants to be thought as hateful, so Muslims are hoping you will quietly go away. Oh..don't forget islamophobe. I've been called that before. I like to refer to them as infidelophobes.

Anyone that defends islam as a peaceful religion, doesn't know anything about islam. They just buy the lines that are tossed around...islam means peace (no it doesn't), allah is God (no he's not), it's a continuation of Christianity (nope).

Oh, for those Muslims who will now tell me I know nothing about islam. I have read the quran twice. I have read the complete collections of Sahih Bukhari and Muslim. I am working on Tabari, almost through with Sunan Abu-Dawud.

    This is not peaceful:

    009.005

YUSUFALI: But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.

    009.029

YUSUFALI: Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued

As a secular humanist, i don't necessarily 'hate' christians, but i do hate people trying to manipulate me or my beliefs. Being from America, the people that do this most often are, (you guess it), fundie christians. So my anger towards this type of treatment is justified. Since I don't even think that i have really known any Muslims that well, i don't feel justified in making any claims against Islam.

  • One of the people I talk to most and am most open with is actually a Muslim female. We spend hours a day talking and discussing and sharing points of view. It's pretty awesome how similar we are. ;)

Just look at it this way, if I, being a Jewish male, don't hate them or feel threatened by them, then why should you?

We'll never be able to change the world, if we can't first change ourselves.

I always used to defend Islam in this forum. Then I actually started reading up about it properly.

Now I will say bluntly: I dislike the racism, supremacy and hatred present in Islam towards all non Muslims.

It is not 'racist' to make this simple statement - because it is FACT that across Europe, Imams are preaching hatred in Mosques.

I know there are millions of peaceful and honourable Muslims. I would never deny it.

But they are that way DESPITE Islamic teachings - not because of Islam.

    There are moderate Muslims.

But there is no such thing as 'moderate Islam'.

If we describe the KKK or the British BNP as 'racist' or 'supremacist', is that racist? Answer: no.

Ditto, describing the ideology of Islam as 'racist' is NOT racism!

B/c labeling you as a bigot ends the discussion. You can't prove that you aren't & your debater can't prove that you are. It's used by people with weak intellect.

You could try reminding them that any religion which can be used to justify shooting schoolchildren & nuns in the back is nothing to admire.

    1. You can't hate a religion you don't understand, unless you want to be called ignorant. You can't understand it...there are people who spend their whole lives learning about Islam and still have things to learn.

    2. Islam also does not advocate murder or terrorism. Christians kill people everyday, some even commit terrorism (the IRA is still around, BTW). I'm a devout Muslim, and never in my 28 years of life have I ever been taught that I would earn a reward for hurting anyone. No one.

    3. I'm also a Muslim woman, and I've never, not for even one day in my life, even for one MOMENT in my life been oppressed.

    4. You may not hate them, but you seriously can't tell me you say these things in public to your "Muslim friends". You can't have Muslim friends and say such lies about Islam. In fact, I guarantee you don't have a single Muslim friend, and that's because what you're saying really is hurtful and ignorant.

Why don't you meet a few Muslims and talk to them instead of learning about LIFE from freaking YouTube?

Well if the atheists are the one who hate Christianity, there's no one to hate them and Islam. They're just as ignorant as you. By the way, have you heard the hateful teachings of other religions. They slowly die off, Christianity has had 2000 years. Give Islam some more time.
