Kidney stone that won't pass!?
Have any pregnant women out there had a kidney stone during pregnancy that just wouldn't pass even though it's tiny (3mm)?
What ended up happening? I've had this sucker for a month now and the urologist and ob both say we'll just watch and wait. It's just sitting in my lower ureter as far as we know. I was hospitalized with really bad pain for a few days last month and sent home with pain meds. The pain has dissipated since then but the last few days I've been feeling it in my side and back again.
So what happened with your stone? How long did it take to pass, did it ever pass?

I'm a big fan of using icy hot pads. I've only had a kidney stone once, but it helped a LOT to relax the muscles and area and just relieve the pain. By the time I made it to the Doc, it had passed...
Can't guarantee this will pass the kidney stone as every body's different, but it might help relieve some pain until you do. Good luck!

Hi I had a Kidney stone that appeared sometime during my pregnancy with my daughter. Unfortunatey for me it wasn't diagnosed untill she was 18 months old and I was hospitalised. What had happened is the stone had grown so large it had blocked off one of the tubes (or what ever they are) which caused my kidney to become infected and stop working correcty. In the end I was in hospital for over 2 weeks where I had to have a Stent (a tube that ran from my kidney outside and into a bag) for 2 months. During that time I also had to have lithotripsy treatment which broke up the kidney till it was small enough to pass. If you stone hasn't passed this is something that you may have to have.
Make sure as soon as you've had your baby that you are sent for an x-ray to check the size of the stone and where it is.
If you think you may have to have the Lithotripsy treatment here is a site that will answer some of your questions http://www.surgerydoor.co.uk/medical_conditions/In...

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.
They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!
This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.
It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
