Why can' someone write a version of the Bible with all the edited and omitted chapters.?
Get Steven King to do the writing so it still scares the begeezes out of people as was it's original goal and some editing by Richard Dawkins, psychologists, historians, theologists, physicists and any fifth grader? And don't forget an English teacher, the grammar is atrocious. RScott
Thanks God---------Stephen it is, wouldn't want to get on the bad side of someone so bold as to think he's God-------
The Stand was an excellent read, spooky too. My girl friend in college lived in the exact home of the 'stinky lady, on Pearl Street

I totally agree, RSct. I'd be very interested in reading the "omitted" portions (of Jesus' life, the missing, mystery years, references to reincarnation, all the good stuff) in their original context.
It wasn't Nero, hon, one of the "editors" was the "Third Ecumenical Council of Nycea" and the emperor Justinian (at the urging of his wife Theodora) who took bunches out in order to "deify" himself (hide his egregious sins.) There were many "re-writes" by "rulers" simply for their own power/purpose. And let's not forget back then there were no printing presses to assure the accuracy of each copy transcribed (by hand) or spell check.
Plus all of the different times the Book was rewritten or interpreted...leaves a chasm of space for errors, erroneous words that defy translation. I seriously doubt the words we read today are what He intended originally.
I'd throw Dean Koontz in too, !! 5th grader !! brilliant.
good question, have a star.

*sigh* The grammar is not atrocious. The King JamesVersion is one of the very best examples of English literature of its day, rivaled only by the works of Shakespeare. If you have a problem reading it, it is your grammar that is faulty.
You would probably be amazed to realize how many common English expressions are directly taken from the King James Bible. Here are just a few:
Prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32) Into the lions’ den (Daniel 6:17-24) Faith that moves mountains (Matthew 17:20-21) Live by the sword, die by the sword (Matthew 26:51-52) Seek and you will find (Matthew 7:7) The spirit is willing, but the body is weak (Matthew 26:41) A colossus with clay feet (Daniel 2:31-45) Let there be light, and there was light (Genesis 1) To throw the first stone (Jean 8:7) Sow the wind and reap the whirlwind (Hosea 8:7) Turn the other cheek (Luc 6:29)
Lost sheep (Matthew 18:12-14) My brother’s keeper (Genesis 4)
The signs of the times (Matthew 16) They made light of it (Matthew 22)
Eat, drink, and be merry (Luke 12) Full of good works (Acts 9)
The patience of Job (James 5) To lick the dust (Psalm 72:9)
To fall flat on his face (Numbers 22:31) To pour out one's heart (Psalm 62:8) The land of the living (Job 28:13) Under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:3)

the hot testomony is a decision of books written with the aid of numerous authors. numerous different texts have been written yet as quickly as an orthodoxy widespread itself and started solidifying a potential base it declared that throughout basic terms particular books, those that supported the doctrine it substitute into advertising, have been to be study. countless clerics made lists of books they theory would desire to be on the approved record. interior the fourth century a bishop named Athanasius made a catalogue that contained the books interior the present canon and his record substitute into finally everyday formally. The books were edited, recopied, and surpassed around for hundreds of years until now they have been accrued into the e book we call The Bible.

What do we expect when you can not see. The word of God is spirit and the natural man has no understanding unless wisdom is given to him from above.
Men have written many versions of a bible but he does not know the works of God. Who knows God so they can council him on what he chooses. Steven King? God laughs at our notions. God is love. It is Satan that scares the Jesus out of a sinner. Why.Because he did not have faith in the first place.

I'm with ya on that for sure and Reyn too. I can only imagine what Jesus might have really said. All the Fundies would call him a stinking liberal and crucify him again. I also believe that here are books being withheld from us and I want to read them. JMHO
Maybe it's not so much the grammar, but the fact that it is contradictory and doesn't make much sense.

Maybe we should form a team and start right now. I will do the story about Adam and Steve.
Chater 2 verse 1: And Adam looked upon the nakedness of steve and shouted: WHOOOA, Stand back, I do not know how big this thing will get.

well, the Bible was never one big volume, each "book" is just one of the Dead sea scrolls.
One of the Holy Roman Emporers assembled a council (Nero I think, i'm not sure) and decided which scrolls would go in to make the bible. This is the catholic version of the bible. When King James took the bible he omitted some chapters because he didn't think they were appropriate.

Steven King is of satan, not of God. And the KJV Bible is sufficient because it was inspired by God.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
