*snickers* Sorry, I'm the youngest of 8. If my mom had gotten after my siblings every time they forced me to eat something they thought was gross, then she would never have had any time to herself. :)

If the parents are coming home, let them punish her. Punish her for now by taking the beans away and just telling your disapproval. If the parents aren't coming home or you have time, I'd make her make it up to him. For instance, make her make cupcakes, muffins, or cookies, something that tastes good, and he gets first picks. If you don't have time or things for that, then make it up to him some other way, like he gets to pick the page of the coloring book that he wants to do even if she likes it more than him, or she has to read him a story. Just something to make her make it up to him.

He's not hurt. More likely he's crying because he's tired. To get him to stop crying, I'd ask him what sort of gross jellybeans he'd make HER eat, or would he make? I'd talk about the soda I saw that was turkey flavored (ew!) and brussel-sprout flavored (ack!) Would he make a worm flavored soda?

Just make it into a nothing. Have her make it up to him when she can by giving him something yummy, and get him laughing about all the weird flavors you could make.

It's a Harry Potter thing. Don't punish her. Standard procedure is to tell the parents when they come back so that they can decide the punishment. Do something cute and nice with the little boy like make a special dessert for the parents to find when they come back or read a story together. Attempt to describe the ingredients that must have gone into the jellybean to make it taste this way i.e. no sugar, citric acid, maybe some spices, bla bla bla, make it a game or don't, just make sure to tell him that it was NOT NOT NOT real vomit that went into the flavoring of the jelly bean. That's probably why he's crying.

He's probably crying because he thinks there was really puke in the puke flavored jelly bean. Go make sure you tell him that it was not real puke, and don't punish her. The babysitter should only refer to the parents what took place so they can punish if they see fit. Just tell her not to do it again while you are there.

I would have your niece eat one of the jellybeans as a punishment, in front of your nephew. That way she gets a taste of her own medicine and he gets to feel that there is justice in the situation.

Jelly Belly made jelly beans to tie in with the Harry Potter book/movie. There is a candy shop in the story that sells "Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Jelly Beans". Every flavor, good and bad. And people them to play tricks on people, as your nephew found out.

lol, thank god I'm not the only one with siblings terrorising each other.

Put her in timeout for 1 minute per her age, when she comes out make her apologise sincerely to her brother. If she plays up about it, put her back again till she can apologise properly

To settle him down, take him in another room, wash his face and give him a drink then sit down and read a book together to quieten him down. Talk about something distracting, go outside and kick a ball....

just have her apologize and tell her that was not very nice.sounds like those harry potter jelly beans.lol. sorry not to laugh but im with you on the who would make a puke flavored jelly bean. ive had the vomit one.

You should make her eat one and ask her if she likes it. Make her apologize. Then you should put her in time out for a little while. When you let her out of time out, just be nice to her and everyone will forget all about it because young children are not known for holding grudges.

When I punish my son I tell him to go to the corner of the room and think what he has just done.. then go apoligize who ever he made cry..
