Would you consider this an investment?

I recently purchased a Rolex for myself and I'm wondering if it could/should be considered as an inestment/asset since they do increase in value.. Thoughts?

Update:

Yes I wear it. I purchased it because I wanted it and got a good deal.

Congratulations! I recommend getting your Rolex insured -- typically offered with your home owners policy or an "umbrella" policy.

Even if you wear it, it is an investment, more so if your time piece is platinum or gold (ie. full 18K or SS/18K) or a harder to find model (ie. SS Daytona.)

Be sure to maintain your Rolex and have it serviced every five years to keep it running and looking new. Take it to your local Rolex Authorized Dealer. They will send it to the closest Rolex Service Center who will provide you with an estimate before any services are performed.

Not normally. If you plan on actually wearing it, then it is not an investment. If you plan on buying it and putting it away for 30 years, then yeah that is an investment.
