Changing IP address without accessing router page?
Hey, its spring break, and my parents put a timer on the Router so that it blocks internet connection for me after 2:15 AM.
I have tried every login/password when I connect to 192.168.1.1 and I just cant access the router.
I know that they just block my ip... so if I could just change it from my pc then I would be set. Is there anyway to do this?
also, could I just unplug the router at 2:10, and wait till 2:20 to plug it back in?
thanks for the help
Thanks that seemed to have worked. I know a bit about computers so I knew what you were saying.
I changed my ip address in the network connections and now it seems like it is working again lol
Okay so I changed my IP in the settings, regained connection for a mere minute or two, then lost it again. Any help?

The turning off of the router depends on how it is set up. There may be a feature to turn it back on at a designated time. Sooo....turning it off in that case wouldn't help.
And to answer your other question, yes absolutely. You will need to go to your network adapters properties (instructions are all over the net since you didn't provide us with details on what operating system and version you use) and you can manually enter your IP address, subnet mask (which is almost always 255.255.255.0) and then enter your default gateway which is typically the address of your router. (you mentioned 192.168.1.1 which is typical for most routers by default). You should also do a search on the internet explaining how to find your DNS servers addresses because you will want to enter at least one of those as well if you can.

Naughty.
The timer was set with your health in view. Better stick with it. Go to sleep at 2:15 AM. There is always a tomorrow.
