  • How to find the sum of e^(-2k) (from k=0 to inf)?

I realize this series is converging and geometric.. but how do I get it into the form a/ (1-r)?

I'm just a bit confused on how to find the sums of some of these more interesting series.

  • Question about programming project?

I'm working on a programming project with another person overseas. What kind of programs should we be looking at so that we can easily update and change code without having to send completely new files to each other? Would something like a VirtualBox on Ubuntu be a good idea? Help.. I've never worked on a project like this before!

    Thanks

  • Can't find a good mmo, help?

I've been trying to find a good MMO game to play as the day is winding down. I have wasted a lot of my time searching for something good.

    I enjoy:

    Good, preferably open, PvP

    Smooth, skilled combat

    Some games I have enjoyed:

Ultima, Dark Age of Camelot, and Age of Conan

Suggestions? I will give the best answer to whoever gives me the best details (doesn't mean write 3 paragraphs)

    Don't suggest:

    Eve

    Warhammer

    Conan

okay, being in calculus, I feel very dumb asking this question.

I have .2244nm^-2 and I just want to convert that to nm.

  • Chemistry Molar Question..?

A certain metal hydroxide, M(OH)2 , contains 32.8% oxygen by mass. What is the identity of the metal (M) ?

I can't believe I'm getting tripped up by this one when more complicated ones seem easier.

  • Estimating MTOE from Mega-Watts?

Okay I asked a similar question earlier but i need to rephrase it.

I need to estimate how much MTOE 2228 Mega-watts produces in the year 2000.

To do this I am supposed to use the equation E = (C * F) * t where C is capacity (2228) and F is given as .84. Time is supposed to be for one year. Which in hours is 8760.

When I plug everything in I get 1871 MTOE for my answer. Is that right? I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

  • Limit of Quotients Question.?

    Okay here is the problem.

    lim x-->1 as (1/x - 1) / (x - 1)

My professor got to this point then lost me

    (1 - X) / (X) / (X - 1) then he rearranged it to (1 - X) / X (X - 1)

How the heck did he manage that? Whoever can provide me the answer to that rearranging gets the point, but explaining out the whole problem will earn brownie points.

You don't have to explain in layman's terms, I grasp the concepts. I just don't understand the steps he took to solve this one.

    Thanks

  • Do tanning beds hurt your eyes?

I went to a tanning salon for the first time ever. I did not use goggles. I went for 10 minutes.

Stupidly, I occasionally opened my eyes and looked around.

Is this bad? Could my eyes be damaged?

  • What happens if I uninstall my mx518 mouse drivers?

I would just like to know what would happen to my sensitivity if I uninstalled my MX518 mouse driver. Would it be the same as an intellimouse explorer 3.0 with uninstalled drivers? I am a bit confused.

Or does each mouse have a different sensitivity with no mouse drivers?

  • Changing IP address without accessing router page?

Hey, its spring break, and my parents put a timer on the Router so that it blocks internet connection for me after 2:15 AM.

I have tried every login/password when I connect to 192.168.1.1 and I just cant access the router.

I know that they just block my ip... so if I could just change it from my pc then I would be set. Is there anyway to do this?

also, could I just unplug the router at 2:10, and wait till 2:20 to plug it back in?

    thanks for the help

  • Should I let go? Serious help only!?

Okay, Im going to try to make this as short and interesting as possible.

I live in Wisconsin, and I met a girl 4 years ago in Colorado (family lives there too). And since then I have gone to meet her and my family every year. But this year, and last year, I did not.

We were friends at first. She was nice, and I just wanted to be friends. But lately, I have realized we have tons in common, she really understands me, and i really understand her. But there is a good chance I will not see her for another year.

I have grown connected to her, and she says she is dying to meet me again, and I am too. I'm getting butterflies when I think about her, and I feel depressed when I think about meeting her (because it could be awhile). I feel like im falling for her... but I don't know how. I have never been in love anyway (so i dont know what its like lol)

We stay connected via texting, e-mail, and calls. Basically every day now.

So heres my question... let go? or go for it? Could I make this work? Im 17 (no age flaming for God's sake) and still planning for college. I believe a lot can happen, but for real, can I make this relationship happen?

Should I try to meet her again? And if it works go to college down there? or is that stupid? Or am I just being a nieve idiot, and should move on?

    All advice appreciated...

    thank you :D
