Do tanning beds hurt your eyes?
I went to a tanning salon for the first time ever. I did not use goggles. I went for 10 minutes.
Stupidly, I occasionally opened my eyes and looked around.
Is this bad? Could my eyes be damaged?

of course, it is the same as as looking at the sun, that is why you get a tan. u shouldn't be in one of those anyway, you will seriously get skin cancer from them, and IT IS COMMON!!!
besides, why did you not wear the glasses in the first place, if you knew you might get hurt????

Tanning beds can definitely hurt you eyes. Not only can you cause sight damage but it can also cause melanoma of the eye when you are exposed to those harmful rays. However if you didnt notice any discomfort you are probably ok. If you are really worried see a doctor, and in the future be sure to wear the goggles. I know they look stupid and are uncomfortable, but they are completely necessary.

I dont think doing it once or twice would hurt anything but you should definately wear goggles next time.... I dont think uv rays are goo for your eyes.
