You can convert nm^2 to m^2, you can convert nm to m. But like you cannot convert m^2 to m, you cannot convert nm^2 to nm.

nm^2 is the unit of area (like m^2)

nm is the unit of distance (like m)

It is okay to ask dumb questions :-)

    so nm^-2 is 1/nm^2 ...

you can do this: (nm^3)*(1/nm^2), which will give u nm.

    hope it helps.
