Circumcision is the last thing you need. You should make every effort to keep your foreskin as it is the most nerve rich skin on your whole body and serves a useful function. Cutting it off for this reason is liking curing a cold with a hand gun. It will work, but the results are devastating.

Follow the information in the links below and start a foreskin stretching routine while you shower. You will see results in two weeks, with full and painless retraction in 3-4 months. After that, you are set for life.

There is no need to cut it off. Go to www.norm.org and read about the reason and function of the foreskin. You will be very happy you did as it will tell you how fortunate you are to still have yours.

An alternative is to ask your doctor for steroid cream that will loosen and relax the tight frenar band of dartos muscle that closes down the opening. Do not even let the doctor breathe the word: circumcision. There are plenty of alternative treatments for phimosis,....if you truly have phimosis, and circumcision is not one of them. Often guys will jump to the conclusion they have phimosis when they really only have a tight foreskin. Stretching will cure this problem without cutting the skin off.

Hahaha NO it's not an option at all unless you want it to be. You can fix the tight skin with the stretching, you don't need circumcision at all. As long as you do the stretching several times a day and hold it back for a few mins so get it really losened up you will be fine. Just make sure you NEVER force it back and you don't feel any pain. Also that bit of skin is called the frenulum. If that is what is restricting you pulling the skin back then you have a frenulum breve, not phimosis. -Connor

Depending on how severe your phimosis is, it can probably be treated with topical steroid creams and gentle stretching exercises.

See your usual doctor about getting the cream, and try stretching the skin by following these instructions:

    http://www.geocities.com/restoremaine/tight_foresk...

This website also has some more general advice:

    http://www.norm-uk.org/circumcision_alternative_tr...

The bottom line is that 9 times out of 10, phimosis is treatable without invasive surgery. I've just given you alternatives. If you really want to be circumcised, you'd need to discuss it with your doctor.

Circumcision is NEVER necessary or desirable.

Phimosis has other treatments than the radical mutilation of circumcision.

It would be sort of like amputating a finger because of a hangnail.

Stretching can frequently widen the foreskin opening to facilitate normal retraction and mobility of the foreskin.

Done gently, over a few months, the stretching can alleviate this, and most men can do this themselves, without a doctor.

Should this prove ineffective, there's also a small operation, called a preputioplasty or dorsal slit, which cuts a small incision in the foreskin opening.

This operation is less mutilating than circumcision, and leaves the foreskin intact, with its thousands of nerve endings for the maximum sexual sensitivity and enjoyment of sex. It also has much less healing time, and less adverse effects and complications than circumcision.

Circumcision is the worst hoax ever perpetrated on the male sex.

A foreskin is not a birth defect; it is a birthright.

Stretching your foreskin first by using some device, for example Icoolda disposable phimosis dilation orthoses, which is a better solution than other non-surgical treatment kit.

Go to a gp (doctor) for a referral to a specialist.

But try stretching your foreskin first... circumcision should be a last resort.

there are other alternatives to this minor problem

    circumcision is rarely necessary

look up foreskin/frenulum stretching excercises and get a steroid cream so the skin loosens up

Talk to your urologist to make sure this is the best treatment. There are other options as well.
