33 Weeks Pregnant - Back pain?
Ok, I'm 33 weeks pregnant (nearly 34) and for the past couple nights I have been getting these really bad sharp pains in my back. More specifically on the right side kind of where my ribs are. They come every couple minutes and never seem to last more than 5 seconds or less. Sometimes this goes on for an hour or more and seems to be only when I lay down.
Anyways, was just wondering if anyone knows what this is? If it makes any difference my bubs is currently breech. I was thinking it was Braxton Hicks...but not sure??

your baby might of "turned it's back to you", meaning their head and back is now pushing on your back, I guess if baby is breech the pain might be higher up.
I have that too, except my baby is head down so the pain is in my lower back.

I cured my sciatica with this natural treatment https://tinyurl.im/stop-sciatica-now
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica.

Braxton Hicks contractions are contractions in your uterus. It feels like someone is blowing up a balloon in your stomach - like a lot of pressure, but it's not painful. Back pain is a sign of preterm labor. If I were you, I would go in and get checked out right away. Better safe than sorry, right? Good luck :)

Hey I am 1 week ahead of you! Congrats. Your body is just preparing for birth and the tightening is just braxton hicks contractions plus your uterous is 500 times its original size right now, wich makes it uncomfortable, and the baby has absolutly no room to move around. We are probably about the same size, I know what you are feeling! but as always if it gets to the point where its unbearable, or something doesnt feel right, call your ob

Ehm..
Sciatica is a pain that results from irritation of one of sciatic nerves. This is a lower back pain that goes down to hip and then to both legs extending to feet and toes in some cases. Sciatica nerve is the largest nerve in our body. Running down the spine through the hip, sciatic nerve goes down to knee and ankle. Any damage or pressure on this nerve results in debilitating sciatica pain that needs thorough investigation of probable causes on the basis of symptoms to provide relief to the patient on a permanent basis.

iT could be the baby in your ribs...you will know if you are having a contraction because your uterus gets really tight and hard. You will know if you are going into labor because you will have lower mentrual like cramps in the front and sometimes in your back going down your legs..if you have any bleeding at all call the doc!
