The filling up with fluid means he's either not taking his meds or he needs to follow up with his doctor to have them adjusted. The breathing problems where he stops breathing is more consistent with obstructive sleep apnea - I'm assuming 2 minutes is an exaggeration. If he is having breathing problems in general, some people feel better sleeping upright or using pillows to elevate the body to encourage blood flow away from the heart - and if he needs to do that it means he's having a flare of his heart failure and may have ...adverse consequences... if he keeps shrugging it off. His health though.

certain and No. If the heart is heavily enlarged, it really is going to take position on a chest xray. even if it really is in effortless words mildly enlarged, it may no longer. particular sorts of heart boom can in effortless words be considered with an echocardiogram. This ultrasound attempt measures precisely the size of each heart chamber, and the encompassing walls. the most immediately ahead type of heart boom is an enlarged left atrium. it really is maximum in most cases led to by using a leaking valve, which will also take position on the echo. Left ventricular hypertrophy, or thickening of the walls of the substantial pumping chamber, will in effortless words be detected by using an echo. it really is the attempt you'll favor to definitively rule out any heart boom. using a chest xray in effortless words must be very subjective, reckoning on the wellbeing care professional who's gazing it, and their experience at examining chest xrays.

sounds to me like his main problem is sleep apnea which could be the cause of the heart problems. see if he will go for a sleep study. a CPAP might be needed while he sleeps & actually reverse his heart condition. tell the dr about the sleep apnea
