In the U.S., freedom of speech has been wiped out by executive orders and by Homeland Security policy decisions.

Source(s): I was so informed by our County Sheriff just last month. Sorry, but the Bill of Rights is currently dead.

If you didn't add the fact that this is for a school report, a lot more people would have helped you out.

All I can come up with for now, in these 2 seconds is maybe something along the lines of how most people don't feel the effect of it because we take for granted the right to have it. We are used to speaking our mind and haven't known another way to live without having those rights. You could put anything from it causing riots, strikes, etc to bringing people together based on similar beliefs they can express.

maximum? i could be mortified to could desire to attend a church I objected to. Yahoo solutions could be a submit to, through fact that i could get violated every time I opened my mouth. Press/Speech, comparable situation. assembly isn't my gig, yet i could have plenty extra people pestering me in the event that they did no longer have some rally to circulate complication with. what's freedom of petition? If the government isn't respecting my different freedoms this one isn't properly well worth the paper that's written on. i think of in case you eliminate my freedom (through fact the Patriot Act already HAS) you cut back my existence the two in substance and in character. What particular real you eliminate isn't very correct.

Mr. Duck (above) has jumped the gun on that one, I think.

This is one of the most important and meaningful subjects you could study. Hooray for your teacher!

Seriously, if you would like to understand what freedom of speech really means, study places that don't have it. U.S. newspapers and Internet news may report on any topic, and print any opinion, good or bad, on anything. This isn't true in every country.

We are allowed to criticize our government in public, and not go to jail for it. We are allowed to express our opinions on religion, and not get shot for it.

Dear child, you have NO idea how lucky you are to be here.
