You can use your iPod to help you transfer. Simply use this handy program called Tansee iPod Transfer to help you http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tansee-iPod-Tra...

Many of my friends are using it for its easy and safe transfer. The whole process goes as follows:

Simply install this program on your new laptop. When you plug your iPod to the laptop, this program will instantly display all songs and videos on the iPod.You simply select what you wish to transfer and click "Copy" button. Done. All your selected files will be copied to your selected folder on the laptop completely and safely. Now you can easily add those songs and videos to your new iTunes library.

More importantly, this won't overwrite any original files on your iPod.

It even has step-by-step guide on the whole process:

One of the easiest ways to transfer iTunes library is by use software to copy the contents of your iPod to a computer. I recommend Cucusoft iPhone/iTouch/iPod to Computer Transfer. It helps to copy all songs/videos/photos from ipod to computer iTunes directly and safely.

    Free download it at:http://dvd-video-soft.com/ipodconverter/ipod-itouc...

Also you can backup your itunes to CDs or DVDs.All you need are blank discs and some time.

    Hope it helps.

This article describes what you need to do to either move your library to a new computer (laptop or desktop, it doesn't matter) or to a new hard drive. It works.

you open the folder that has the songs that you downloaded, then you definately precise click it and it really is going to assert open in itunes. then itunes ought to pop up, and it really is going to play the music. if it doesnt play the music, then the record is damaged.
