Bush should had been impeached - of all the presidents in history he has committed the most impeachable offenses.
- History will prove that he LIED about WMDs
- Flagrantly violated the Geneva Conventions
- Packed government agencies with loyalists, particularly the legal wing of the equal rights enforcement.
- Worst of all he invaded Iraq without finishing the job in Afghanistan, so you are correct in that this world is far LESS safer than it was. It was due to GW's obsession of getting vengeance for daddy in Iraq that Iraq went from a strictly secular dictatorship under Saddam to allowing for a religious civil war to brew the past couple of years, opening a nation of 40 million as a breeding ground for Al Qaida.
He also committed several ethical abuses such as in 2000 spreading rumors that the McCain's adopted child from Bangladesh was John's illegitimate child.
On this one I have to agree with many conservatives - the reason Bush was not impeached was because we liberals are wimps. It might also be perceived as an admission of guilt for believing the lies of the Bush Cheney lies without fully vetting them.
But thanks for asking the question. As you see it shows you how stupid many people are about this issue. They do what their preachers and Sarah Palin tell them to do rather than think for themselves like the Europeans do.
Look at the Republicans - they impeach Clinton for having an affair with an intern. Yet Bush gets away with leaving this world in chaos. Absolutely disgusting.

Impeachment is an indictment, an accusation made by the House of Representatives. If a president is impeached, the Senate then holds a trial and, depending on the outcome of the trial, the president may be removed from office or acquitted of the charges set forth in the bill of impeachment after which he or she may get on with his or her administration.
The Bill Clinton impeachment by the House, followed by a failure by the Senate to convict, could mean the Senate felt that an insufficiently strong case was made by the bill of impeachment or the arguments advanced by the Managers on the part of the House, who argued the case against him.
The failure of the House even to impeach President George W. Bush during either of his terms probably does mean that the members of the House did not believe that any of the president's alleged misdeeds rose to the level of "high crimes or misdemeanors." Your saying that "[g]oing to Iraq was a crime" may sound good when you say it fast, but that doesn't make it so.

on the fringe of 0. except a president takes to highway crime, having a majority in the residing house of Representatives is a effective inoculation against impeachment. despite if Bush lost that majority, there could be some Democrats too careful to vote for impeachment.

No Bush was never impeached, that was just a far left smear propaganda, it's all a lie.
Bush kept this country safer regardless of what the liberal revisionist machine tries to push, it's a fact.
We are all in great danger with the O as President. Russia is negotiating strategic military bases in both Cuba and Venezuela. The Taliban calls Americans and Obama weak and cowardly and on the run, apparently they are right but only because we the people put our tail between our legs in response to a roaring mouse. Obama seeks to trade a missile shield that would make the world safer to get Russia to help with the Iran problem that he lacks the backbone to deal with. Add to that Mexico is at war with a drug cartel that is so powerful it has a larger army than the Mexican government and Obama is too meek to get troops on the border to protect our nation. It is well known that over one hundred Middle-Easterners cross the US/Mexican border illegally every year and the liberal cabal, Obama/Reid/Pelosi respond by refusing to put up the border fence and refusing to do anything to protect the border.
We will see a major terrorist attack on US soil during Obama's administration, it is not a matter of if it will happen it is a matter of when it will happen.

If you were a young child when Clinton was president, I imagine you're not much older now. You are certainly no wiser.
Clearly you have no clue what you are talking about. I assume you are not an attorney, so you are not capable of listing the "crimes" Bush is to be accused of.
Clinton was impeached. Just because you were unaware of this doesn't mean it did not happen.
Bush indeed kept America safe. Your shouting otherwise makes you look even more foolish. Bush spent the last seven of his eight years in office keeping America safe. During this time, unemployment hit record lows on a number of occasions. The markets broke dozens of records.
"That idiot" is the reason there were no attacks on American soil. "That idiot" is the reason the economy soared on his watch.
Do your research. You have so much to learn. In the meantime, you make your liberal pals look worse than they already do and God knows they don't need any help with that.

Because Nixon was over Watergate and Reagan and Bush I weren't over Contragate, but Clinton was over Monicagate.
The dems learned from the repubs that you don't impeach someone to placate your base (unless he is one of your own), you need the overwhelming support from both sides of the aisle.
The impeachment is really a political trial. Substantively, it should be considered that the President is no longer effective as a leader.
Bush could still be tried for war crimes overseas.

Well if you were a young child during the Clinton days how old are you now? How much have you bought into the idea that Bush committed war crimes? What did he do huh? It was congress who declared war not him. He didn't do anything illegal. Maybe we should fire all the people in Obama's office who committed tax evasion. Get over it kid and learn so real facts.

Because he committed no impeachable offense.
Don't mistake intelligence quotient with leadership, street smarts, or wisdom. Bam-Bam is lacking in all three.
Spending this country down the river of fiscal ruin to advance your party's social policies is a crime. This Admin. has bankrupted this country and stolen away from its future. The amazing thing is that these misfits have only just begun.
Thank the misguided young and women of this country who were primarily responsible for voting for this insanity. To describe them as foolish is far too kind.
Just another uninformed brat from the "me, me, me" generation.

Because the Republicans controlled Congress from 2001 to 2006, and the 2007-08 Democrats had less "principle" than the 1998 Republicans. The 1987 Democrats, who knew Reagan was guilty as sin with Iran-contra, also showed precious little spine.
Thank God for Peter Rodino (the Congressman my parents grew up with, living in Newark) and his House Judiciary Committee of 1974: They showed true principle, and several Republicans joined all the Democrats in voting to impeach Nixon, who resigned before the full House could vote on it. (Two members of that committee are still in Congress: John Conyers and Charles Rangel.)

obviosly those who think clinton should have been removed after impeachment are idiots. You should read up on american govt. Impeachment is the formal charge of a preisident. After the president is charged. He then goes to trial before the senate with the cheif justcie as a judge. Then the senate votes whther he should then be removed from office.

i ask myself that same question everyday...i dont know much about politics cuz i dont like watching the news it either makes me angry, sad or worse both, seeing how much people suffer and also how corrupt people in powerful positions are (not all but a good chunk of ppl are), this is suppose to be the best country in the world and the safest but it doesnt seem like it anymore...i still feel safe but there are definitely many things that can be done to improve
