People don't know enough about our own oceans. (we know more about outer space than we do about our own oceans)

People should be more concerned about the disappearance of honey bees. It effects us deeply.

I can't think of a third one off the top of my head.

Second amendment rights. That is, the right to bear arms. So many people feel safe with just the police, and while I'm a Democrat and a big Obama supporter, he is trying to take away that Constitutional right from a lot of citizens. Historically, taking firearms away from citizens has been a first step in a dictatorship or a tyranny. One of Hitler's first moves was to criminalize gun ownership. There are a lot of facts, this was just an idea for your paper. I married a police officer and gun enthusiast and I'm learning a lot about it too. Good luck!

EDIT: The person below me said this is a controversial topic, which is very true. I thought that was partly what you were looking for. I also wanted to clear up that Obama isn't trying to take away all guns from all citizens, but he is enacting policy to take away some. Like this week when he reversed the policy allowing pilots to carry firearms in the cockpit in the case of terrorist hijackers.

1. The art of equestrian sports or the US citzens right to bear arms.- equestrian sports require a lot more stregnth, balance, and grace than you could ever imagine. and, like the person above said, we have a right to bear arms, and we always have. we should keep it that way, as hunting and target shooting are both sports that many people (including myself) enjoy and do so safely.

2. all the people who are dying due to malaria- so many people are dying, and yet people are more concerned about supporting things like PETA or the ASPCA than donating to vacinate those who can't afford a malaria vacination.

3. ancient literature- ancient literature can give us so much wisdom accumulated throughout the years, and plus it is just a lot of fun to read.

(and to the person above me obama is already trying to pass laws making it super expensive to own firearms and ammo. he wants firearms out of the possesion of US citizens.)
