    here it goes kiddo

    y=-x2+4x-6

    -2x+4x=2x

    rewrite:

    y=2x-6

    now here is how it goes:

    2x is actually equal to :2x

    ----------------------->... --------------

    ..................................... 1x

    so go to the graph and put a pencil in the (0,0) then move to (2,1)

    and move down 6 so it should be (2,-5)

    PUT THAT IN A GRAPH PAPER AND COPY EQUATION SO TEACHER HAVE "PROOF" THAT YOU DID IT....WHEN I ACTUALLY DID IT 4 U

    y = -x^2 + 4x - 6 is a parabola

    The x-coordinate of the vertex is given by x = -b/2a

    So the x-coordinate of the vertex is -4/(-2) = 2

    btw ... If you had to give the y-coordinate, just subs x = 2 into the equation to find y.

    put it into your calculator and then press graph. find the vertex (x,y).
