hy do liquor stores in texas have to put your bottle in a bag when you leave?
I know it is the law but why ?? what is the history or the point or the reason.
example:
why do people have to wear seatbelts..so they don't get as badly hurt and run up everyones medical bills

I get my booze at Costco and when I just get a bottle or two (nothing else), they just let me carry the bottle(s) out without requiring a box or bag. So, I don't know if it's a law.
I think it's more likely that they want to give you a discreet brown paper bag, so your neighbors won't know how much of a lush you are when you bring it home. It's just a privacy thing, I'm sure.

That is mandatory everywhere in the US, I believe. You are not supposedly allowed to carry an visible bottle of liquer in public. Stores are required to brown bag it......I know it is true in Michigan and at least on military post in Texas. Most likely it has to do with the encouragement of minors to drink. If children sees adults carring around a bottle of liquer then they might think it is okay for them to drink it (copying the adult). Also you are not allowed to have a visible bottle of alcohol in most motorize vehicles (you can be pulled over and arrested) in many states.

thats everywhere, i live in california, they always put my 40 or my jack in a paper bag, i think its the law idk
