Good Japanese Movies?

Question

I recently watched Battle Royale, and I thought it was awesome, then I started to wonder what other good Far Eastern movies are there. I have already watched Old Boy and Lust, Caution I quite like movies like these. Can anyone reccommend other movies?

Old Boy is the second part in the Vengance Trilogy with the last two films in the list being the first and last parts.

If you liked "Oldboy" then you have to see "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" and "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance".

I loved "Oldboy" until I saw "Mr. Vengeance"... amazing.

"Infernal Affairs" 1, 2 and 3 are also a must see. "The Departed" is a remake of the first.

"The Host" is a good monster movie.

"Crying Fist" is a good Rocky-type movie

"Ichi the Killer" is good if you like gorey/comedy type stuff and it also has an anime add on.

Then if you're really committed... Anime.
My favourite is "Ghost in the Shell." It's similar to Bladerunner.
Then try to find "Blood: The Last Vampire" - it's only 45 minutes long but it's beautifully animated.

I really liked Shutter, it's a Thai horror film.

Apart from that I can't think of anything that hasn't been covered already.
