Unless, you want to crawl under the car, and, try to find the leak, which, could be coming, from several different places, then, I would suggest, that you call a tow truck, or, get the car, to the transmission repair shop, as soon as possible. As for needing a new transmission, it depends, upon, how far you drove the car. If, only, a little ways, then, you may be able, to sneak by, with a repair job, on your old transmission. Otherwise, if you did drive quite a ways, then, you may need a different transmission. A transmission, cannot be driven too far, with no, or low fluid. The best thing to do, is to get the car, to the transmission repair shop, and, let them access the damages, then, you'll know, where you are at, and, what, you should do. The repairmen, will will be able to give you, the best advice, after, they have looked the transmission, over, and, tested it. Don't drive the car, anymore, unless, you have to. Doing so, will just ruin the automatic transmission, further.

Sounds like a leak to me check the transmission cooler lines for leaks. I wouldn't try running the car again until it is fixed.

you have a massive leak sounds like the tranny pan if it leaks while siting the fluid is in the pan the trans will not operate properly or at all without proper fluid level.you can and will cause permanent damage to the trans if operated without proper fluid level.if it leaked while driving only it could be a line trans cooler etc gl

well could have called a tow truck and not drove it while it didnt have fluid in it so now maybe it could have fix the leak but most likey now you need a new transmission

if it,s leaking that much then it sounds like the front transmission seal went out. you should,nt be driving it that way or you could burn up the transmission unless you have already did.

you shouldnt have run the car without fluid!

go to the mechanic... they can fix the leak and

hopefully you didnt grind up the tranny from running it dry...

i want to make a smart remark but will not...lets go over it...tranny pumps all fluid out...so you drive it....im no MENSA but it may need a rebuild depending on how long you drove it WITHOUT fluid.
