What would you say/think...?

If you saw this tattoo on a females right calf: an eagle over an American flag with the words "Have you forgotten?" around it?

Something similar to this: http://www.copernicus.com/FLAG28.jpg

Update:

The design and location are set, so please no suggestions on changing location (plus there is already a set design for my back/shoulders).

I'm not worried about visibility, it won't be visible unless I choose it to be.

Update 2:

This won't be done to honor 9/11. My family is a partial military/marines/navy family. I've lost family in past wars. This is to show that I remember their sacrifice and won't forget them, not just those lost in 9/11. I lost nobody in 9/11, but everyday our men are overseas, I risk losing family.

Update 3:

I must stress: this tat has NOTHING to do with 9/11. The only affect 9/11 has had on me is the fact that some of my family aren't at home with their wives and children.

I believe honoring all who have who have served in our countrie's military Is a fantastic idea. The only thing I would change would be to have it say NEVER FORGET!

First of all as an ex. soldier, I empathise with your reasons for wanting this tatt. Honest answer, the design itself sounds ok, very patriotic, its the question that if I saw it, I would find irritating.

It has an air of superiority to it, which I know you dont intend at all but its like saying '' I remember more, or you dont remenber enuf''. As if anyone affected COULD forget. This is how it feels/comes across to me.

I would be very offended to be asked '' Do you remember?'' if I had lost a loved one in 9/11 or the ensueing conflicts.

Couldnt it be a statement like ''never forgotted'' or ''Always remembered'' instead.

Sorry but you did ask what we thought

I would think there is meaning behind it. And it sounds like it. But artists (a majority of them anyway) won't do white on a tattoo. It's used more for shading purposes because by it self it fades very quickly.

Great choice! All you have to do now is go get it! :D

I would assume this girl is very dedicated to her country and passionate about American beliefs.

However, I do know that girls can be criticised about putting such a huge work of art on a very visible place.

Save your legs; how about placing it on your right shoulder or something?

And maybe even something like this?

    I'd probably ask about it.

It sounds like a great idea.

I'd just look at it, kind of wonder why she decided to get it [just b/c I'd be mildly curious], then move on w/ my life.

I'd think it's cheesy and unoriginal. Also, forming it in a question makes it come off a little preachy.

    Source(s): Pierced and tattooed.

i'd scowl at her cuz it was a stupid idea. We can remember 9-11 without some cheesy tattoos.
