If you could turn back original sin... would you?
By committing the first sin, Adam and Eve gained knowledge of good and evil for the rest of humanity. True it brought ruin upon the world, but they became more than animals, they became truly aware with all the hardships and pain yet beauty when seen in contrast to the suffering about them. So I ask you... If you could turn back original sin and restore humanity to blissful ignorance...
Would you?

If you think about the concept of original sin--as you say--they became more than animals--meaning before they committed the first sin--they were basically animals. So let me ask you this--if you drop a steak on the floor--tell your dog not to eat it--walk out the door--leave the door unlocked--your neighbor comes in and holds the steak under the dogs nose---and tells him how good it is--and the dog eats it--Was your dog bad? Did it do something wrong? Or was it the fault of you the owner for leaving something around that the dog wasn't supposed to have that he could get to--was it the fault of the dog or the owner for leaving the door unlocked and allowing the neighbor access? If adam and eve didn't know the difference between right and wrong--then how could this be the first sin? Just paints a picture of a capricious and mean deity with no sense of justice doesn't it? Doesn't punishing adam and eve and all mankind for something adam and eve did that they weren't able to comprehend was wrong make your deity more evil than the talking snake? Or perhaps this was just an allegorical story written by people who wanted a vehicle to illustrate how man got to be different than the animals--why man was sentient. We know for example these authors plagarized some of the creation story from the much earlier babylonian creation myth of the gods making man from clay/

No.
Beliefs are vague ideas or impressions lacking validity. Ignorance is not bliss. Ignorance is the darkness in which humanity suffers and fears. There is no original sin but ignorance.
Knowledge is the pinnacle of human existence. Peace and joy are the pinnacle of knowledge. The quest for knowledge is the quest for truth. Through our lifelong journey of learning, knowledge and wisdom, we walk out of the darkness that is ignorance and deceit, and into the light of truth. Only the truth sets us free.
No offense but Adam, Eve and your god are a myth. Think. Don't just believe. Walk out of your cave. Seek the light of truth. Fear not. Be honest with yourself. Discover life and liberty.
We are not more than animals except by our arrogance. We come from energy. We are energy. We return to energy. All the universe is energy. We belong to the whole. Heaven or hell, happy or miserable, is how you choose to live in this your lifetime. There is no life after death except the energy you were, are and will become.
Peace. ;-)

Adam and Eve got kicked out of Eden for becoming "as gods" (See Gen 3:5 and 3:22). God does not allow false gods in His presence.
Christ said you must become as little children to enter Heaven (Gods presence) at Mat 18:3 and children are defined at Gen 1:39 as those having no knowledge of good and evil. So what is the difference between children and adults that have become as gods? What does a god have that is so repugnant to God but the power to impose their will (play god) on others, which are of course, God's children. In other words, what we are being told by all of this, is that God did not abdicate His throne and authorize anyone to run His creation but Him.
This means we still have the choice to follow God or play god. Yes, I would turn it back and see that every child was taught that the only valid ruler of this world was The Almighty. Take note that 1Cor 15:24-25 tells us that man will finally have the peace God intended when ALL rule power and authority (called here God's enemies) are put down.
It is up to us who we follow. The problem is that from birth we are taught to follow the enemies (false gods) of God because we give them the power to punish us. As if they were gods. We can repent at any time and STOP listening to anyone who would have us follow any authority other than our Creator. Can't you fire those you hire?

God must have know that one of his creatures would do such a thing. After all he is something we can't understand.
I would not take back original sin for blissful ignorance. Even without original sin the poor little elephant baby gets eaten alive by a pack of lions...

It's the knowledge of good and bad, not good and evil. Which is moralizing, foisting your own subjective moral standard onto someone else.
Free will is original sin. Moralizing and judging others by your own standards is the outcome.
Free will is here to stay, so it is up to the indiviual to learn to shut thier mouths when they see something different, instead of exercising their incessant finger pointing and moralizing.

I personally do not believe in the concept of original sin, I think the story of Adam and Eve is just allegory to represent what happened as man evolved into a more knowledgable creature.

Yes, I would, but hesitantly. Jesus died to save me and everyone else from hell. I do wish it had not been necessary, but I love Jesus for that.
But without original sin, no one would ever have to die or go to hell. Hell would only exist for Satan and his demons. So, of course, I would turn back original sin if I could.

I'd have to believe there's some sin involved first, but since I don't see the sin, I'd have to say I don't relate to what you're talking about.

The easy answer would be to say yes, but I am not sure that I would. Since God created everything and allowed that to happen, it had to be part of his will and I would not want o go against God's palns. So i am not sure if I would.
