First of all, congrats on smart planning! You’re going during one of their off-peak seasons when lines are low, shops are not crowded and hotel prices are cheaper! Yay for you!

Q1) What is your favorite park and what do you like about it?

My favorite park is Epcot. There is so much to do there and I love touring the countries. Some of my favorite rides are there including Spaceship Earth and Soarin! The food is amazing at Epcot, especially in the countries.

My #1 favorite ride is Rockin Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Get fast passes for it.

Q2) What is your favorite restaurants in the parks? (Not any in the hotels because we will be eating at the park we will be at that day.

    MAGIC KINGDOM:

Cinderella's Royal Table located in Cinderella's Castle. You get to go up in the castle to eat and you also get the chance to meet Cinderella and her fairy Godmother. The food is great.

Try a Dole Whip from Adventureland. Its pineapple flavored soft serve ice cream. Very good.

    EPCOT:

#1 favorite! Germany's Biergarten. It's a buffet style with German foods (such as Schnitzel Wiener and bratwurst). They have a band that plays all sorts of fun polka-style music. You might just find yourself doing the chicken dance. The setting inside is themed to "October fest." Great fun and good food!"

#2 Favorite - The Garden Grill located in The Land. Great food (veggies are all grown there at Disney). Food is severed family style and you will also get to meet Mickey and his friends. This restaurant turns in a circle, so as you eat, you slowly move your way around in a circle, viewing different parts of The Land.

Also: Visit the Boulangerie Patisserie in France. Its hidden back in France by the shop where you exit for the movie (It's in one of the back alleys). All of their pastries are good, but some of my favorites are the strawberry/Chocolate mousse, strawberry tart, and chocolate éclair.

    DISNEY’S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS:

Lunch with a Disney Artist – (RSVP required) you can have lunch and meet a Disney Artist! You can hear them speak on movies they’ve worked on, and life as a Disney Artist. Too cool! Good food too!

For a snack try the Caramel Popcorn from the Dip Site (located in the Backlot)

    ANIMAL KINGDOM

Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House – a buffet of great breakfast foods! Yummy!

Q3)Can you give me any tips on how to enjoy my trip while I'm there?

    My tips are:

Bring snacks & water with you. You can bring in water bottles, snacks & even sandwiches to save money. Don’t spend money on Disney’s pricey water! Just go to a local Publix and get it yourself. Since you’re staying at Port Orleans, you’ll have a fridge in your room so you can store cold stuff.

Take your time in Epcot & Magic Kingdom. These two parks are my favorites. Give yourself a full day for both.

Watch the weather when you go to Epcot. If it’s in the 50’s or 60’s bring a jacket with you. You’ll be surprised at how chilly it can get with the wind coming off the lake.

FAST PASSES! Get fast passes for rides that their offered (especially Test Track, Soarin, Rockin Roller Coaster, and Toy Story)!

For Toy Story – Get there when Disney Hollywood Studio’s opens. GO DIRECTLY TO THIS RIDE! GET YOUR FAST PASSES!!! They WILL go quickly. Trust me. My in-law’s used to work this ride! Sometimes they’ll go within 30 minutes (for the entire day!) If you don’t get them, don’t fret, it just means you’ll have to wait in a longer line.

Go see Fantasmic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and IllumiNationas at Epcot. Those are my two favorite fireworks shows.

Don’t miss the Lion King show at Animal Kingdom – it’s good too.

If you’re up for another tour – take the “Around the World at Epcot” tour. It a segway tour. Learn the basic’s of operating a segway and then go tour around the World Showcase on a segway. It’s a blast!! Tour price is $95 but it is a LOT of fun! To reserve your spot call (407) WDW-TOUR or (407) 939-8687. See this link for more info and more tours: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/epcot/tours...

To find Mickey – go to ToonTown at the Magic Kingdom and go through his house. It’ll lead you into a tent, where you will find Mickey. It’s the easiest place to get you’re picture with him.

    4) How are the Christmas Decorations?

Great! Christmas time is awesome at Disney. The parks are decorated, you will find a Christmas tree at every park (some are outside the gates and others are in the parks).

Here are some special events going on at the parks during Christmas:

    MAGIC KINGDOM:

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party – featuring nighttime parades, shows & snow on Main Street! You can see the characters dressed up in their holiday wear.

    You need reservations for this.

    EPCOT:

Candlelight Processional – ok, so I’m not a very religious person, but I have to give Epcot two thumbs up for an impressive Christmas musical event.

    1) from the disney family then it has to bemagic kingdom- it has the most rides!!

    2) the restaurants throughout all the parks are pretty good but i would recommend the ones in Epcot Center- there was a really yummy italian restaurant in Little Italy in Epcot (dont remember what its called though) but the foods pretty good!

    3) go on all the rides, if the weather is warm go to the water parks.. make sure you find out what special days there are in the parks.. have fun ITS DISNEY!!

Also i suggest leaving Disney and checking out some cool spots in Orlando- Universal City Walk has pretty good night life (great Kareoke spot) also Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure are SOO fun, International Drive has good restaurants.. visit the malls.. just try and take the whole city in..

    4) the christmas decorations are AMAZING!!! they have fake snow too, its beautiful!!!! oh theres also Mickeys very merry christmas party- some of the parks are opened later and they serve hot chocolate and cookies for free. Also during december 2008 there was a REALLY cool light show in MGM studios so there might be that also..

Whatever u do ull have fun.. the city is amazing and disney is magical!

    hope this helps..

    have fun!

My favorite park is the Magic Kingdom because it still feels the most magical to me. You can't confuse it with anybody else - you know it's Disney the second you set foot inside! And there are such fun, classic rides there.

    Favorite restaurants:

Magic Kingdom: Liberty Tree Tavern (sit-down), Pinocchio Village Haus (fast food)

Epcot: Garden Grill (sit-down), Sunshine Seasons (fast food), all the restaurants in the World Showcase countries

    Hollywood Studios: 50's Prime Time Cafe, Sci-Fi Dine-In, Mama Melrose's (all sit-down)

Animal Kingdom: Tusker House (buffet), Flame Tree Barbeque (fast food)

    Here's all the menus: http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm

You are going at a great time of year. Crowds are very low the first couple weeks of December and all the decorations are up and beautiful! Every park has different, gorgeous displays, and so do the resorts. Be sure to see the Osborne lights at the Studios.

    1. I LOVE all of the parks, but I have to say that I REALLY LOVED Epcot, because it has the World Showcase. It is where they have about 10 different "countries" surrounding this lake that they have. You get to see some of the art and culture from these countries, and each country has a restauraunt!!! The countries are: France, Mexico, Morocco, The United Kingdom, Canada, Old America, Japan, China, Norway, and Germany!!! It is truly amazing, so you MUST go see it!!! :)

    2. I LOVED this little cafe they had at Epcot. It was called Sunshine Seasons!!! I got this awesome sandwich, and a GIANT cookie!!! Most of their food at the Sunshine Seasons is HEALTHY!!! :)

    3. Just make sure you see everything, and you ride as many rides as you can!!! And most importantly, have fun!!!

    4. I havent gone to Disney World during Christmastime, but I am SURE the decorations are ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING AND FABULOUS!!! :)

    Enjoy and have fun!!! :)

I really liked the Hollywood Studios (formerly Disney-MGM Studios) park as there were several thrill rides, and a couple of sit-and-watch shows like the Indiana Jones show and a car-chase stunt show as well to get off your feet. I didn't hit any of the restaurants personally, just "snacky foods".

Two tips: Take your room keys for free FastPass access (you only get one per person, so take both of them). Also, if there's a park you want to see but there's only a few things you want to see there, consider an after-2:00 or after 4:00 discounted ticket, sometimes available through the web site where you booked tickets. Of course you can always go for the park hopper tickets as well, but buy them at Costco or other retailers before you go, it's much cheaper.
