I got a new debit card in the mail, I have a question..?
I ordered a new debit card in the mail, it has the same exact number as my old one except that the expiration date is different.
My question is all my automatic bill payments that I setup with my old card, now that I have a new card, none of them will work right? because the expiration date of the old one is set to automatically be billed?
I have a few things I pay with every month automatically with my debit card, now that I activated the new one, the old one I guess is not good; so none of my bills will go through unless I update the expiration date to the new one?
Just want to make sure.
Thanks

As long as the account number on the card is the same, your bills will still be paid.
You can contact the companies you pay and be sure to update your card's expiration date with them.

Double check with your bank, but the automatic debits will probably continue.
Personally, I think it is a very bad idea to allow creditors to auto debit your bank account. There are so many cases of duplicate or excess money being removed, causing overdrafts.
Check into your bank's online billpay. Most banks offer it for free. You can schedule all your bills in advance and even set up automatic payment for recurring bills. The advantage is you have complete control and records you can access. You can change or stop payments up to a couple days before the due date.

dont worry, the bills are taken from your account and not your card. I have had loads of new cards over the years and never had a problem with standing orders, etc. the only time you may have a problem is with something like paypal, if you use it, as that uses your card number which is stored with them, and this is only going by experience.

The account number is the same. You don't have to change the expiration date

I think that is right. I got a new card last year and as far as I can remember I had to update my information. To be safe maybe call the bank and verify.

Don't think too much, the account stays the same , right? Then it should work as the old one! I would go online bankin and make everythin easy and readable
