Who would be next state to sell out NHL arena for high school tournament?

Right now Minnesota is the only state that sells out an NHL arena for their state high school hockey tournament. What state could potentially do this in the future? Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, New York? I saw on TV Missouri had quite a few fans, probably around 4,000 at the Blues home rink, and they were pretty loud too. Looked like a good time for those fans.

I'm a bit shocked that Michigan doesn't sell out their high school tournament.

I'm also shocked Mass. doesn't sell out.

Both states, from everything I've heard, have great grass roots support for the game.

  • There's no doubt High School Hockey is huge in Minnesota as is hockey itself. I personally don't think there is another state/NHL rink that can sell out like they did. I would venture to guess that Michigan and Massachusetts are the only 2 states I would consider coming close given the right match-ups etc.
