Cody, WY is full of cowboy history. The town itself is named after the famous Buffalo Bill Cody back in the good ol days. They have Buffalo Bill Museum and Historical Center, nightly rodeos, and Yellowstone National Park is not that far away either. They also have other museums like the Whitney Gallery of Western Art, Plains Indian Museum, and Draper Museum of Natural History. You can also ride in an old covered wagon and enjoy a cook out and an old fashion Round 'em Up.

I forget precisely where it is, but off of Interstate 90 in Montana, you will find the Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site. This ranch once encompassed parts of five states and at least one Canadian province. If that isn't cowboy country, then there is no such thing.
