hey,
it depends on your laptop and tv.
red/white/yellow are typically RCA audio/video in /outputs
if your saying you dont have svhs, you could be pinched.
check to see what other ports you have.
also vga output is just that video output, no sound or anything.
some laptops now have dvi /digital video outputs that you can attach to
the new hd tv's. you have to have some type of vid output on the laptop, to plug to a tv/projector, something.
the issue is whether your tv will have a corresponding input.

Look For A TV Out Cord Compatible With Your Laptop.
You Can Buy This In Your Local Computer Store.
Bring Your Laptop Just In Case But I Think The
Cord Is Universal.

They have video cards that have a video/audio dongle that will hook up to your TV. An example is the ATI TV Wonder. They are for PCs not laptops. The video quality will be normal TV resolution. Newer computers and laptops have HDMI out or you could use the VGA out on your HD TV. But sounds like you have an older tv.

Yes, depending on what kind of outputs your laptop has.
Many laptops have "S video". The S-video port on the computer is round with several pin-holes in a sort of circle.
If your laptop has S-video out there is a fairly cheap cord, probably available at Walmart, or Best Buy, or the like that fits into the computer slot on one end and the other end is the RCA phono-pin red yellow white. You will probably also have to plug part of the cord into your audio out (earphone plug).

You will need more then a cord. To get any type of good picture you will need either svideo, dvi, or hdmi. If you tv does not have these you will need to buy a older item. I can not remember the name of them to save my life. Basically it takes you monitor out to a box and turns it into the YRW cables you have. I bought one many years ago and it was around $200, they should have came down by now.

I havent done it so I wouldnt know.
But I think you should go to a play like best buy instead of wal-mart and asked about it.
Personally because Wal-mart electronic people doesnt seem to know alot.
Best buy seems to help you a little bit more.
