I live in the city, but it is my dream to live in the country. maybe when I retire.

Trolls are out early this morning, Old Fart. I had a question from yesterday removed about an hour ago.

I am a city girl always have been but I am a country girl at heart. I am lucky though not more than 15 minutes from my house the corn fields, natonal parks and inland lakes start so I can always find nature. Also I have a big family and a a few live in a small town a few hours north of me and they are all country 2 stop lights, 3 gas stations, 2 bait shops (the town is on lake huron) and 6 bars....LOL! I get up there as often as possible and let my wild side out!

i live in a small town in alabama about 30 minutes for Talladega Speedway on a 3 acer spot. This town is so small we don't even have a traffic light or police force. We do have a fire department with a ambulance service .. So we just shoot crooks trouble makers and call them.. The plus side it's quiet here and i am less than hour from birmingham, Montgomery, or Auburn We have a good size town only 6 miles away for everyday needs .

I live in what used to be a heavily wooded area, about two miles from a swamp, that is a Federal Wildlife Preserve.. Now it's all built up, with strip malls, and malls, and the two lane black top is now a six lane highway, and the

dirt road that crosses it near my house is a four lane divided road.. And the trees, and most of the wildlife are gone.. The big town I lived near, is now a small city..

So I used to live in the country, but it has turned into a congested suburb.. Where did these people come from??

I'll race there for a lifetime supply of free ribs. As far as the whole "just goes to show some people will do anything to sell stuff" I'm a business owner, the economy SUCKS and three businesses around me have already gone under, I'd dress like a monkey and dance on the street corner right now to get more $$ in the door, so I can sympathize with the track owner. I can also sympathize with Jr. They really could've gone about it a little differently.

I live on the outskirts of a large town but it has a very small town feel. I grew up in a very small town in Newfoundland (about 200 people) and would never want to go back to that. Don't get me wrong, I love Newfoundland but that is too small.

I would however like to have my cake and eat it too and ideally would love to live in the country but be somewhat close to the perks of a large town or city.

I live in the largest city in my state, which would probably seem pretty country to a lot of the largest cities in the US. Although I do wish I lived out of town. But the area I live in is not bad, on a hill over the Sioux River. Lots of "country" land, well other than the interstate that is a mile away.

Country, and I do mean country <LOL.> We live on 10 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The nearest "town" (it has all of 2 stoplights) is 20 minutes away. I have a 40-minute commute to work.

I wish we had a city with more museums, parks, zoos, better jobs, and better shopping <LOL> nearby. But we basically like it. I'm so used to quiet and open space now I would probably freak if I were surrounded by concrete and skyscrapers.

I live in the country. About 10 miles out of town on a 3 acre spread with the nearest neighbor about .5 mile on each side. Far enough that I could take a whiz off the back deck and no one could see.

I live in a subdivision in a suburb. It's a decent-sized town in the Memphis metro area, quite a bit different than where you live. Your farm is several times bigger than the cove I live on and all the houses and yards combined.

When I first moved here in 1988, there were about 3,000 people living here. Now there's about 25,000 here. That's growth for you.
