Who is the best NHL goalie to date?

Oh, but he beat Brodeur last Sunday.......are you kidding me? He lost to Mathieu Garon the Sunday before that (while aloowing 5 goals) so Garon is better then! Christ.

Brodeur and Luongo are the best goalies in the NHL......while Luongo doesn't have the playoff success, it is just because he has been on crap teams.

JS Giguere is a top 5 NHL goalie IMO and one of the best "money goalies" in that he raises his game when the stakes are raised.

His name is Martin Brodeur. The Devils have him and they are going to be tough to beat. Brodeur has sent all past, great goalies to the back of the bus. The two goalies, that the above people mentioned are too young to be mentioned in the same breath as Brodeur.

Martin Brodeur... Hands down.

I'm a Rangers fan saying this too. Just the way Brodeur plays is amazing. Can't deny anything from him.

Brodeur broke the record for wins, but how many of those wins came as a result of the new rules (4 on 4 overtime, larger goalie equipement, shootout)...Not to mention what killed hockey in the first place: The Devils playing the trap for most of the 90s.

you can make a debate about any goalie that is the best but i believe that it is Martin Brodeur because he doesnt have the best defensive players on his team and his stats are still amazing

For me, the best goalie to date would be Manon Rheaume. Since she's married now, I would have to ask her husband for permission do date her and that may be a problem.

Brodeur- there truly is no debate. Since his return, he's only gotten better.

The Devils are in control of their own destiny and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they were the Eastern Conference Champs when it's all said and done.
