Oddly, I have discovered that I can get to my 360 profile by clicking on one of my contacts photos--then going to the top of my profile page again and voila, there it is "my 360."

Wait, that's not exactly correct. Click on "my fans (the tab)" and then go up to the top of your profile page and it should be there. Then, if you copy the link to your 360 page, you can post it on your profile page.

Yes, there have been notices. There's also a link on the Yahoo! Answers home page explaining the changes (or you can click the link below). I know I made changes based on previous notices back the end of February.

You can still get to the Yahoo! 360 page, just not for your Yahoo! Answers profile.

There have been plenty of announcements in the various Yahoo blogs and the first page of Yahoo Answers.

Yahoo has switched profiles from Yahoo 360 to Yahoo Profiles. Go to http://profiles.yahoo.com/ and create a profile and upload your photo there. It will only allow you to have a square picture so you can no longer have a long avatar. If you have a cartoon avatar the change will not affect it and you can continue using it.

Now after saving everything go back to Yahoo Answers. Click on your old avatar in Yahoo Answers which brings you to your profile. Now go to "Edit My Info". You can pick the cartoon or photo to use. BE SURE TO PREVIEW AND SAVE (OK) THE PAGE AT THE BOTTOM. Shortcut: http://answers.yahoo.com/my/my_edit

Parts of Yahoo! 360 are transitioning to the Yahoo! Profile and thus other services are making an adjustment in their settings. your 360 space is likely still usable and accessible. So, nothing has happened to your 360 service besides what's been happening all along - a migration to the Yahoo! Profile. It's just the Yahoo! Answers' turn for changes in their settings (i.e. your image being taken from the Y!Profile instead of Y!360).

No, they didn't send out an e-mail about the change, but they did post information in their Yahoo! Answers, Yahoo! 360 and Yahoo! Profiles blogs about the changes to come (even as far back as October 2007).

If you want to access Yahoo! 360:

    - Go to http://360.yahoo.com/

    - Click the teeny tiny "Sign-in" link on the upper left of the page (if you are not already signed into a Yahoo service). After signing in, the page refreshes and you should click on the teeny tiny "Yahoo 360 Home" link on the upper right of the page to get into the 360 space.

    - You can certainly bookmark the link in your browser.

If you want a link to your 360 space in your Yahoo! Answers profile again:

    - Click "My Page" at the top of your 360 space

    - Click the drop down menu "Preview as seen by" at the top right of your 360 "My Page".

    - Choose PUBLIC as the permission group and click the "Go" button

    - Click the "Top Page" link above your personal profile picture section on the left side.

    - Select & copy the FULL web address that appears in your web browser's address bar (starting from the http:// part)

    - Click "My Profile" to the upper right of this Yahoo! Answers page, then click "Edit My Info" in the top left box on the Answers profile page.

    - Paste the address in your Y/A profile's "About Me" section. If you have a Simple URL setup, use that instead. Make sure A SPACE follows the address.

    - Click the "Preview" button, then the "OK" button.

See http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/profiles/ for details of what you can do on the Yahoo! Profile.

NOTE: This transition was announced in October 2007 on the Yahoo! 360 product blog and the UPS actually started in a rudimentary beta form on October 16, 2008. The Y!360 part of the system hasn't been transferred over fully yet. See the links below for more details on what will be kept from 360 and what won't be kept (which I recommend that you take steps to save elsewhere).

    - See blogs (old & new) at http://blog.360.yahoo.com/product_360 and http://www.yprofileblog.com/ for more details. The 360 team blog is also accessible via the "Yahoo! 360 News" link in the upper right corner of your 360 space. You can post complaints on the Yahoo! 360 blog, but don't expect a personal response.

    - See the links in these blog entries for more details on Yahoo's overall direction and UPS:
