could i be bipolar my dad is?
i have been depressed lately but i also had my period. i also cant fall asleep at night and my father is bipolar. i took a few bipolar depression test on the computer but they ask questions like am i suddenly very interested in sex and the answer is not at all, i could care less about it. anyway could i be bipolar or is it normal to feel like this?

BPD does have a genetic component. My guess though, is probably not. You're still a teen AND you're on your period, so hormones are kinda crazy.

Everyone on earth has symptoms of mental illness, but a symptom does not mean a person has a mental illness.
There are criteria to be met when diagnosing bipolar disorder... and there always has to be a history of mania (at least one episode).
I wouldn't worry about having bipolar disorder, unless your issues are so severe that they are interfering with the function of your daily life. In that case, see a doctor.

You could be bipolar. Mental illness can be genetic. But it sounds like you're just having some hormone fluctuations or something.
Anyways! If you're really concerned you should go to your doctor and talk to him or her. It's not healthy to diagnose yourself.

It is gene connected. However wait till your cycle is over and see. I ALWAYS get kinda weepy during that time. However the ONLY way to test this is through a blood test.
