I'm trying to burn a dvd but the disc I put in my hard drive (DVD R+)?

Once I put the DVD R+ CD in the icon for the disc doesn't show up on my computer. I already have a DVD burning softwar and I'm already finished with my project that I want to put on the DVD. Do I need a special DVD burning hard drive or recorder?

Update:

I have both a DVD R+ cd and a DVD RW which one do I use?

Apparently you only have a reader not a burning drive. Seems ya gotta buy a burner.

I'd like to recommend DVD+R, it's more compatible.

What dvd burning software did you use to burn DVD? I always use convertxtodvd to do that, it works pretty well for me all the time, never had the problem like you. You may download it for a try, and here is a guide about how to use it

The DVD RW,that's the burner, the other is just a player.

you need to make sure your pc's burner can work with +R and not -R only

and if you use the RW don't forget to format it first or it will not work
