Existentialism is an outgrowth of the philosophy of phenomenology, which is concerned about our selves and how that influences what we know, feel, and do with the world we perceive.

It includes the study of dread, fear, awe, submissiveness, freedom, free will, duty, inspiration, sexuality, and all the many social aspects of humans as well as our inner most thoughts, pains, and experiences.

For some, not all, it can be summed up in the idea that we determine the meaning for our lives and no one else can really, authentically do that for us.

To oversimplify it, existentialism means reality is only knowable to the individual.

It is MY philosophical perspective as everyone knows, so my ungrammatical trashing of it above is an obvious impersonation.
