Is anybody else having trouble with redeeming microsoft points for xbox 360?

It might be something wrong with Xbox Live, but I searched the web and didn't see that they're updating it or anything. Try calling Microsoft and tell them about it. Sometimes they're nice and they'll even give you something free for your troubles. =D

I had a similar problem redeeming my xbox live time card on my profile name which had been inactive for some time. I was getting an error message followed by a number. I was then informed by microsoft that this sometimes happens and that I was basically out of luck. I was forced to make a new xbox live tag and lose my 4,000 gagamer points had accumulated before my time card would work. There are also rare occurrences where the cards they print out and put on shelves were given code numbers which are invalid. Either way you should definitely contact microsoft, in which case they will either give you a new number for the card or tell you to start a new tag (hopefully not). Goodluck!

Yeah just turn you Xbox off and then try again and if I doesn't work phone/email microsoft and tell them that one of their servers are down.

It could be that the cashier didn't run it through the activator. I got one that wasn't activated so I returned it, turns out that specific card couldn't be activated to begin with. I think it's a screw up in the cards.
