Curious As To How People Rate Responses?

I am curious as to what criteria people use to rate responses to questions on this forum. Do you personally rate the responses based on whether you think the person's answer is simply stupid, whether or not you agree with the answer, whether or not it the answer is rude or inappropriate, etc. Please feel free to elaborate.

I don't give someone thumbs down because I don't agree with them. That's stupid. A lot of people have opinions that differ from mine, so I have no reason to down them because of their opinion. If the answer is clearly immature/rude/or inadequate I will give them a thumbs down.

    Example Answer: Sbjkasdb

Random typing is NOT an answer.

Example Answer: I don't know, but will you answer my question? Here's the link: (Link)

I don't think either of those answers are appropriate, thus they should receive a thumbs down. :-)
