Yes, but you really should have gotten him fixed BEFORE he started spraying. When young cats are neutered BEFORE they ever spray - then they never really have that "impulse" and it's never an issue.

But if they HAVE sprayed, there is a chance that they will do it a few random times.

But in general, for the most part - once they're fixed, that impulse disappears.

The only real product on the market to attack that spray odor is one of the "enzyme products" which actually breaks down the organic matter.

Any attempts to "deodorize" or mask or even bleach or clean the area will not be successful - you have to actually get rid of the organisms which are *IN* the spray.... the organic material.

The enzyme spray can be found in any pet store - you may have to treat the area several times.

Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She was very frightened and would pee all over the house. I found Cat Spraying No More on the internet and the techniques worked almost immediately. I haven't had a problem with Lola since. Amazing!

Can't stop your cat peeing in the house? Then worry no more...

after he is neutered, he should stop spraying. The smell is very difficult to get out. Sometimes your local feed store will carry something for that if it is on your floor or walls. If its on your rug, rip it it, spray the floor with the stuff from the feed store, and replace your rug....other than that, i don't know any other more natural ways to rid the smell. Good luck!

I have had one tom cat for over 6 years now.

He was neutered when he was young, but he still sprays, and if I don't keep him off my bed he wets and it's a big job to have to wash all my bedding.

Because of him, I also have to keep a plastic liner on my mattress, which is not comfortable under my sheets.

It's not a 100% guarantee, but most cats will stop spraying once they are neutered.

As long as he is still young, he should stop spraying ( usually), The smell is really nasty. Getting rid of the smells depends on where they sprayed. was it furniture?
