What does "reimbursement through equity" mean?

I'm a software developer and someone approached me with a project they want me to help them build. They said I can choose to be reimbursed through equity or through freelance payment at an hourly rate.

I've never heard of "reimbursement through equity". What does that mean?

i'm assuming he needs your services and gives you an option to

take x% in the company but that's through shares. Ex. If there are

150 shares in the company, and he gives you 50 shares, then you'll own

50/150, which is 33%. but there isn't anything that would limit him

issuing more shares to himself or other founders, which is why i'm

skeptical why he'd offer this. If you feel that sales are imminent

then MAYBE "PART" of the compensation should be in shares.

If you don't have confidence in the guy or the product/service, take

the cash. Otherwise, take a blend of both, but I wouldn't recommend

taking all equity for your compensation.

That means that through Jesus christ we can have a relationship with God, Its the same thing that you believe. They also believe that Jesus is Lord and only through him they can have a relationship with God.
