HOW CAN I CONCEIVE WHEN......?
I have a 18 month old daughter and i now feel ready to have a second child.
My problem is that i have had odd/irregular periods since i had a contraceptive injection. It stoped my period for 3 months while the jab was effective, i have not used any other form of contraceptive since and my periods are really getting me down now.
I was not bleeding for 6 months AFTER the original 3 and then after that i have a period (heavy) or brown discharge ever 2-4 days!
I am scared to go to the doctor right now but i am also desperate to have another child.
Any suggestions are welcome but please don't make fun, i feel this is serious and i am asking for help not jokes!

I think you body needs to adjust, i am ttc after the contraceptive pill, was on it for 3 years and have been off it a year now and im only just getting my regular periods back, i also didn't get periods for 2/3 months at a time. I'm not sure how long it will take for the injection to come out of your system so i can only really compare it to my experience on the pill. I've found it hard to make it through a whole year with no hope at all with ttc #1 and at this point im starting to feel completely desperate. (I know this prob doesn't help right now but id rather be realistic and not give you false hope)
It may be completely different with the injection and every woman is different anyway, it may still take a few months for your body to regulate and it might not take a year like it has for me. Plus if you became pregnant now with your periods like this, it's prob not the best environment for a growing baby.
What's kept me going is the thought of my new baby at the end of all this, it may take ages but something this precious is worth waiting for.
What's good about your situation is you already have a baby to enjoy whilst waiting for baby #2.
And you might be scared to go to the doctor but he/she will be able to tell you exactly how it is and might even suprise you! If not he/she will be able to give you some peace of mind and sound advice.
Best of luck to you, keep us posted.

I was on the injection for 2 years (about 4 years ago).
When I came off it, it took 7 months for my period to return & then a further 6 months (whilst on microgynan) for them to become regular.
After the injection, it can take upto 2 years to get back to "normal".
I am sorry to say this, but you need to speak to your doctor to see if they can recommend anything to help regulate it faster.
They may, for example recommend 2-3 months on the pill to get your periods regular before you then start trying for a baby.
Surely this is better than getting yourself all worked up & constantly trying in vain?
Good luck & best wishes x
