I am married now and no I did not have pre-marital sex before I was married, the bible says at 1 CORINTHIANS 6:9 "What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men." The word fornicator means a person that is involved in sexual acts before marriage. Not only did I abstain from having sex because the Bible told me to do so. Its also a protection. There is a chance of you getting a STD and also a unwanted pregnancy.

According to the bible it is wrong, but only because sex was made for procreation and a emotional and committed bond that only a wife and husband were to share. God designed us so He knows what the act of sex does to a couple. He also knows the amazing emotional baggage sex without a serious commitment can do to a person. I am a Christian and I wanted to abstain. I did good for a while, but I was 17 and so was he and we thought we would be together forever, but it didn't work out that way. Then a few years later I was dating another guy and my past baggage made me think I needed to have it in the relationship for it to be secure. We struggled with the abstaining part, and it certainly made our dating relationship a lot more emotional and struggling, but we survived and we are married now and it will be 4 years in august. Basically it cause a relationship to have added struggles and He knew that when He made us and that is why it was to be for married people, because back then marriages meant more too. The same struggles are there now, people just don't take it as seriously.

    Hello,

    1) Yes, its called fornication in a number of bible passages and is wrong and sinful.

    2) I have failed miserably as have most normal Christians I know of in the pre - marital sex department.

    Cheers,

Premarital sex is wrong because sex is suppose to be something special shared between a man and the wife God has given him.

Robing your soul mate of this by being experienced before hand can lead to making the significant other compare themselves to your former lovers, or worse, starting a family with someone you are not compatible with.

If God has shown you that your significant other is your soul mate, then just get married and then you have nothing to worry about!

Self control comes as a fruit of the Holy Spirit so God gives us the tools to hold out if we seek Him first. (Gal. 5)

I'm not sure if the Bible itself condemns pre-marital sex, but I attended catholic schools my whole life and that was something that seemed to be tied to religion and constantly drilled into our minds.
