Hey everyone, my name is Jillian. I have been married for 5 years. I love to talk to people and help them. I am currently a foster mom of three. They are all siblings and my husband and I have had them with us for about 15 months now. I love to have fun and I am a huge reader. I will most likely read anything and I love to write my own stories. I am a big fan of Harry Potter, mostly the books, but also the movies. 92% of teens would die if Edward Cullen said breathing was not cool. If you are one of the 8% laughing on the floor, put this on your profile If Harry Potter is > Voldemort and Voldemort is > than Cedric and Cedric = Edward Cullen then Harry is > Edward Cullen It's simple math (Thanks to FreadandGeorge Weasley.) {mischief*managed}

  • My read-eared slider turtles won't bask?

Ok so I have recently been given two red-eared sliders supposedly a little over a year old. I am not sure how well they were taking care of nor if they had the opportunity to bask. I have a 35 gallon aquarium, I know it is a bit small but it is what they came in and I am in the process of getting an upgrade for them. My husband and I went to the pet store, got a UV-B lamp for above the aquarium. We also purchased a new filter and a UV-A basking bulb to put on the aquarium for a few hours a day. I have maybe 5 to 6 inches or so of water in the aquarium and a nice flat rock above the water for basking. We have a heater in the water that has kept the water at about 80 degrees relatively constantly. My only thoughts are now is perhaps the temp above the water isn't warm enough, but I am not sure how to change that. So there is the case, please help me figure out how to help them cause I know it is necessary they bask.

Is there a temperature that is too high for the water in the tank with red eared slider turtles? Please help I have never had a turtle before and I don't want it to be too hot I know the average is between 72 to 85 degrees, but the heater I have for the water heats it up higher like in the 90's range and so I have to turn it off for bit and then on again, so does anyone have any good advice about their water temp. ?

  • How to deal with curly hair?

Can anyone give me any ideas on what to do about my hair? I have heard about just using conditioner and not shampoo, but I haven't tried it. Is there anyone who has the trouble I have? My hair is somewhat course, especially underneath. It is naturally curly and I love it, but it is so troublesome, diffusers nor any type of blow drying is a good idea, at least for my hair. So any help would be great thanks. Any ideas on how to care for my hair would be welcomed. Thanks in advance.

  • I need help with a young girl that thinks satan will help her more than God....?

I am simply asking for advice. I am a youth leader and a young girl I know asked me last night around 10pm she said her friend worships satan and she was feeling like satan would be more helpful to her than God. She knows about God, she was raised to believe in God and I do want to help her sort out her feelings in this matter. I do not want to be preachy or bible thumping, because, lets face it we all know that hardly works in this culture. Does anyone have similar stories with people struggling with this or have you been struggling with it, what would you advise, would be the best way to approach it. Obviously I do not want her to feel like satan can give her more. Satan is no tthe answer and I was hoping for any helpful advice in helping her see the whole picture. She is like 13 and pretty dramatic in case that helps. Thanks

  • Is it possible I am allergic to the sun?

Recently, I have been having difficulty going out into the sun for even short periods of time without having my skin become annoyingly itchy. I may only go for a short walk on a bright sunny day and when I come back, within a short amount of time My forehead, chest and arms began to itch. Sometimes if I itch too much I will get a small read bump along my arm or chest. It feels like hives, but I don't get several small red bumps just so itchy. Basically the skin of my whole upper body feels as though its crawling. My question is; I would like to know if this is a normal medical problem. It isn't even the, I've been out in the sun too long itch, it is very different. As I stated before I don't even have to be out in the sun for long. I am not itchy in the sun, only when I come indoors out if it does this occur. I will be 30 in October, and this has never happened to me before, please help me out. Even if you have a name for the problem that would help. Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance.

I would like to have children and my husband and I have been together, unprotected, for nearly 5 years. I was wondering if this is a factor in my lack of pregnancy? Lastly, is there anything out there that I can take that will give me regular periods without it being birth control? Please help! Thanks!

  • Snape and his memories..........?

So I was reading the 7th Harry Potter book for the third time and I had finished Chapter 33, The Prince's Tale. I know why Rowling had all those memories throughout the chapter. She wanted us to understand snapes position. She wanted us to see why Harry's eyes were mentioned and to help us see why snape was a spy. However, If we were to just go from snapes perspective. In all the memories Dumbledore only instructed Snape to let harry know he is an accidental horcrux and that he is to die at the hands of voldy when voldy seems to fear for his snake. Why is it that snape chose to give Harry all those other memories about his mom and their friendship, the tears he shed in grimauld place, the letter, and his many meetings with Dumbledore? So lets have fun with this and answer why we think snape, if snape were real would reveal so much more of himself than just what dumbledore instructed him too.

  • How do I make a good smoothie?

I have a smoothie blender type appliance and I was wondering if anyone here knows a good mix to put in. Currently we are experimenting with frozen concentrate mixed berry juices, ice, lemonade, and occasionally some frozen fruit. They are good but we cannot seem to keep it smoothie like for very long. It melts rapidly and I think we put to much liquid in it. Any help would be appreciated, give me your best mixes and if you can some help on how to keep it more solid.

  • Has anyone ever heard of this book? Please help.?

I read this book years ago when I was in high school. It is called Phoenix Rising. I do not remember the author. It is a book about two teens, one is very sick and the girl is trying to help him. I believe the boy is sick because of something like Chernobyl the nuclear plant. If anyone has heard of this book, read it, or know where I could find a copy, please let me know?

  • A little Harry Potter survey. This is my first one so be nice please.?

Which character is more entertaining in the harry potter books and why?

What I mean by entertaining is they are funny, eccentric, and all around some of Rowlings greatest creations.

    Flitwick or Fudge

    Draco or Harry

    Luna or Xenopholis

    Dumbledore or Xenopholis

Fluer or Ron's Great aunt that lends the tiara to Fluer

    Moaning myrtle or peeves

    Hagrid or Trelawney

    Harry or Ron

    Neville or Lee Jordan

    The twins or Arthur Weasley

    Hermione or Harry

Rita skeeter or Madame Maixine (sp)

    James Potter or Sirius

    Voldemort or Tom Riddle

    Voldemort or Lucius

    Bellatrix or Voldemort

    Fianlly

    Peeves or nearly headess nick

    * Keep in mind everyone, this is a survey on who was more entertaining to read about not necessarily who you like better.

    Have fun! :)

  • For those who have read Harry Potter and Twilight.. No Twilight bashing please.?

Ok, everyone, this is a bit of a project I am working on. I am a youth leader at my church and there are quite a few young girls that are struck with the twilight bug. I want to stress they are like junior high. I am going to be teaching a few lessons addressing the very real ideas of dating young people get from reading about bella and edwards relationship. The actual misconceptions and dangers they can fall into when it comes to what they expect in a dating relationship. Please understand I this isn't about bashing twilight, I really want you guys to give me some quotes, perhapse conversations between bella and edward that could be seen as unhealthy in a real relationship.

I have heard people say it is unrealistic, shallow, annoying, amazing, wonderful, so beautiful, etc. What I want to know is why it is those things. I am not going to tell the kids to not read it, because that would be stupid, being that they are pre teens and teens they will just do the opposite of what I say. I am going to be teaching these lessons as nonbiased as possible that is why I need ALL you guys help.

So to sum it up, quotes, the good, bad, and ugly. The lessons will be in July, but I am trying to do all the research stuff now. If you are confused by my question, feel free to e-mail me. Thanks for the help.

  • Harry Potter people....when was it the worst?

I wanna know when you had your biggest emotional reaction while reading the books of Harry Potter. It could be anger, sadness, excitement, or happiness. I am sure there are plenty of examples, but can you pick at least one of each emotional responses? Rowling knows exactly how to write and how to get a person completely absorbed in the story so tell me what were the biggest emotions you felt and why?

I was angry pretty much through all of book 5, I was most sad when I read about snapes life and experiences, I yelled out loud with excitement when Neville spit in voldy's face and decapitated nagini, I was extremely happy when Ron came back and saved harry and destroyed the horcrux that plagued him the most I also felt betrayed when Rowling took fred away.

You know mine, now lets hear yours. :)

  • DA/RA welcome, who should have been with who?

I am going to ask a bit of a fun and somewhat silly question. This will mostly apply to us all who have been fans for a while and had to wait for books to come out. Because Harry Potter is so big, many of us couldn't wait till the next installment of movie or book came out, right? So I am almost certain most of us went to sites to feed the addiction in between books and movie. Of all the speculation and all you guessed for yourself, who did you think would end up with who? Such as most of us knew hermione and ron would end up together, but who else did you think would get together, and why? What lead you to believe they would?

I know a loaded question, but I want you to have fun with it, some of you may have wrote fanfictions, hooking up your favorite characters, share it with us all.

Two part question, Im sorry, hope you have the time to answer. Aside from who would be with who and I am sure I am using improper grammar there, but oh well. So aside from that, what things did you speculate that would happen to people, like who would die, what was it harry would have to do, etc. Did it come true, where you right or only somewhat right? Thanks, I hope you all can answer.

  • Regulus Black, what was it that caused him to leave?

I know it is kind of said by sirius, that his brother thought it was too much and that is why he left the deatheaters, or rather tried to. And it is true he kept the real horcruxs to screw voldy over, but was it just the horcrux thing or was he asked to do something he wasn't willing to do? Such as killing sirius or getting the potters position out of sirius. Being that Bellatrix was from the same family as sirius and regulus, he wrongfully believed that he could trust regulus as well as Bellatrix. He also entrusted another piece of soul to Bellatrix. Obviously as we all know voldemort takes love and family bonds for granted, so my question is, do you think it was that regulus was disgusted at what he was entrusted with or just found out? We don't know for sure how he found out what was in that locket. Or was he feeling he didn't want to betray his brother, even if they didn't get along? Let me know what you think. Even if it wasn't to protect sirius, he wanted to protect kreacher which is also considered family. Was it loyalty to the black family name, sirius, or kreacher that made regulus stand up against voldy?

I just thought it was an interesting poll to take, let me know what you think and why. Thank you.

  • What about Neville Longbottom?

Ok, everyone, I was wondering if it is just me, but isn't Neville one of the best characters in the Harry Potter series? It could just be me because I am a huge fan of the underdog and of course of complete dorks, such as Neville. I was wondering if anyone else out there is a little annoyed there isn't enough recognition for Neville? When people talk about Harry Potter, usually, it is snape, who I love, or Harry, Voldy, etc. Is it just me or does anyone else wanna give a shout out to the man that spit in Voldy's face and decapitated the wretched snake nagini? Here is you chance, what is awesome about Neville and why you like him.
