I can only tell you what my own little monkey was eating at 12 months.
Breakfast - milk and oatmeal (or scrambled eggs in chunks, or pancakes in little chunks)
Snack - cereal bar, again, I cut it into little bitty chunks. Perfect for her hands to grasp, but not choking big. Also, she has been known to have a little cookie at grandma's (the white kind of sandwich cookie, but only one of the sides - the kind that dissolve with milk, or slobber...)
Lunch - She would have a jar of stage three food and a cup of diced fruit (or apple sauce, something simple).
Dinner - She would eat what we were eating. We put it through the food processor so anything was tiny, like pasta and things. If the meal was spicy or just too much for a baby girl, we again gave her a stage 3 meal (or pureed at home veggies or something). We've since started giving her gerber graduates, excellent 'microwave' alternatives when our food is too "adult".
Honestly, and I know there are moms out there who will think I'm terrible for this, Lillian eats what mommy is having. If I make lasagna, she has some. If I make soup, she has some. If I'm having toast for breakfast, she had little bits of it. She still loves bananas and green beans, but she Prefers to eat with mommy and daddy, whatever mommy and daddy have... it's working well.
I hope this helps, or at least lets you know that you're not alone. I had NO CLUE what to feed her. I thought she would be on the bottle for a couple years (I was never around children before...) but she managed to wean off the bottle and onto the sippy in just over a week. :)
GOOD LUCK!!! and Enjoy this time...

I'm no mother but my own mother raised a lot of kids from her daycare and I took notes on how to watch them myself.
Your son is barely 12 months old so he shouldn't be eating fries, coleslaw or fish yet. I recommend gerber as your child's food source.
Breakfast: Try dry cereals like Cheerios, Rice Cereals or Fruit Loops. For colder days try regular oat-meals.
Lunch: Try giving him soft fruits and cooked and soft vegetables. Or give him canned foods. Make sure he eats it a hour or more before nap time or it can lead to: stomach aches, illnesses or Fatigue.
Snack: Try only giving him a snack in the morning and a snack after his nap. Try giving him fruit snacks, gerber graduates. Don't try to give him anything to hard because he could choke.
Drinks: Don't give him too much juice. My cousin got a lot of juice as a baby and his teeth rotted and had to be pulled out. Now he is four and is missing his two-front teeth. Try giving him flavored water, water and a couple of bottles of milk. Don't lay down on milk or he may get a calcium defect like a toddler I know.
Dinner: Try finding some food's in the baby aisle at your local grocery store.
If you feed him like he is seven or eight years old...which your some-what doing. He'll become overweight or obese and his heath can be on the line. Once toddlers are overweight they already have a higher risk of heart problems and asthma.
Good luck!
Try giving him some fresh air to like a playdate at a nearby park!

Honey if he is eating that good he doesn't need the bottle anymore at all or the formula. If he wants the bottle at bed time I would just give him water or juice and I would also consider switching him to a sippy cup at bedtime. Gerber has sippy cups with a soft nipple like lid that can help make that switch easier for him.
Since he only has his front teeth, keep giving him what you have been. Stuff that's soft or disolves easy. Ritz crackers are good for snacks, kinda make a mess but my kids loved them. For breakfast, I would suggest the gerber cereals, and try mixing some fruit with them. Pop-tarts are easy for kids his age to eat, not exactly the healthiest thing but easy for them to eat. Cocoa Puffs, Kix, or Fruit Loops are a few cereals I gave to my kids. Or the Gerber puffs. For other meals you can pretty much give him what you eat just not meats or stuff that you have to chew up good and gerber does have alot of things for older babies.
Don't be so critical of yourself. You are doing fine Mom!

you know what your doing fine!
I too am a first time mom to a 18months old and had a lot of the same questions as you, talk to your mom and/or mother in law. and honestly my son was eating "table food" at 10 months and was starting to be weaning to whole milk at the same time but was breast feed until a year and then completely weaned to whole milk but now is on 2% b/c the whole milk gave him the runs.
you could start trying some cereal in the more weather it be oatmeal cheerios or rice krispies.
Everything else look good I think anyway..... start introducing more foods unless you want a picky eater and always having to make separate meals for your son. And your son will not be overweight as long as you promote active time as well, no-one eats perfectly all the time and can't give your son completely healthy food 100% of the time, you promote it as well as you can!

Sounds good to me but I would stay away from the fried foods b/c of too much fat. My son is a little piggy too, and he will sometimes snack continuously through the day but usu it's breakfast: Milk, cereal and a banana (or fruit) Lunch: sandwich or (small portion of meat if I have leftovers), milk, fruit Snack: raisins and crackers and juice (he is a raisin lover) DInner: Meat, milk, veggie, crackers Snack: milk and cookies if he ate well or fruit/cereal bar if he didn't. I base his fruit intake on the contents of his diapers if you catch my drift.

Take the bottle away trust me.
Anything else is up to you as the mom, but make sure that your 1 year old gets enough vitamins throughout the day.
I would suggest yogurt as a snack, its sweet but healthy.
Ego waffles.
Fruit.
Veggies.
Lots of water.
Avoid too much sugar and candy, Avoid Caffeine, Avoid too much salt. Remember you are teaching him eating habits he may retain for the rest of his life.
I am sure you will do fine.

One of my boys used to pull his hair out when he got frustrated like that, as well as hit his head on the wall. Some kids are more introverted and take the frustration out on themselves instead of biting or hitting a parent or another child. I handled it the same as if they were hitting someone else...sit down for a time out and then try to talk to them about it afterwards. It is definitely part of the frustration of not being able to communicate effectively at 2 1/2. God Bless you and your family!
