Can someone help me plan my Vancouver trip itinerary?
I'm planning to go to Vancouver in the last week of April for four days. How much rain should I expect? I don't really know how to plan an itinerary, but there are several things I'd like to do: visit the rainforest, suspension bridge, Whistler or Grouse Mountain, shopping area, Granville. Can someone help me organize my days? I don't want to plan activities and have them be in completely different areas. I prefer to group it by location, so I can spend each day in a different part of Vancouver. Also if you have other places that you recommend I visit, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

try this site http://www.hellobc.com/ its the official tour site.
Rain is possible for sure and you may have to wait until your here and then wing it according to the weather. For instance Grouse Mountain http://www.grousemountain.com/ is fantastic views and a nice trip but pointless to do on a rainy day or with low cloud ceiling. Capilano Suspension bridge is fine on a cloudy/light rain but not so nice in a downpour.
Shopping on Granville or better yet Robson St. and Pacific Centre Mall can be done on a rainy day or evening .
You didnt mention Stanley park or the aquarium (both downtown) and they are worth a visit.
The nice things about Vancouver is its pretty compact. So you can do Grouse Mountain and Capilano on the same day as they are in the same area of North Van. But For a 4 day trip I would probably not try for Whistler as its a day in itself (each way is about 1.5 hours)

No one can tell you how much rain to expect. It could rain all four days, it could be sunny all four, or it might switch back and forth between rain and sun all four days....welcome to spring on the BC coast.
Have you got a map of the city? You can't plan activities without one. Where are all the things you want to do in relation to where you're staying? If it's downtown, piece of cake. You can visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge and see some rainforest at the same time, and they're on the way to Grouse mountain. The bus goes to Grouse right up Capilano road. The prime shopping areas are Robson St and maybe the Granville Rise, which are close enough together that you could walk if you wanted or spend 20 minutes on a bus between them. Whistler is a whole day trip since it's a two-hour drive each way from downtown. The Greyhound or some bus line goes there. Plan on one or two activities a day. If the weather is nice, I'd highly recommend spending an afternoon strolling around the West End and Stanley Park. Lots to do there. For the evening, check out what show they have at the Planetarium. It's always worthwhile.

Fortunately, the suspension bridge has a rainforest on the other end of it, and the bridge is part-way up the hill towards Grouse Mountain.
Whistler is a two-hour drive north of Vancouver, whereas Grouse Mountain is basically in Vancouver itself.
So, you can do one day suspension bridge/rainforest and grouse mountain easily, and another day with the other activities you listed. Now that you have two more days, consider stanley park and possibly the aquarium there as well.

With its pile foundation and urban beaches, Vancouver has the rightly earned trustworthiness of being one of the very most lovely towns on the planet, with hotelbye you will have the chance to see this amazing city. Among the areas you'll need to see in Vancouver is the Downtown Vancouver. Downtown Vancouver is beautifully located on a peninsula in the Strait of Georgia bounded to the south by the delta of the Fraser River and to the north by way of a strong fiord reaching far inland. Here you can even see the usually snow-covered ranges of the Coast Mountains. Stanley Park is one of the very most visited parks. Is just a lavish Peninsula Park of large trees surrounding to Downtown Vancouver. A paved seawall journey encircles the natural space, and most visitors make an effort to explore on base or by bicycle. Inland, the park presents a lot of things to accomplish, and guests may spend a complete time exploring attractions which range from the totem poles at Brockton Point to the west shore sea life at the Vancouver Aquarium. Spectacular views are a standard throughout the park.
