What If we would stop our knee jerk political party support?
U.S. Congressman Ron Paul from Texas has been proved right time and time again with respect to the Economy (warning of the coming collapse of the housing bubble as early as 2002), inflationary monetary policy (warning of its ability to create economic bubbles to begin with as early as the 1980's and its destruction of the currency as early as late 1970's), foreign interventions and unconstitutional war (need I say more). And Ron Paul is ringing the alarm bells even more loudly against Obama's economic program, making it quite clear that what is forming is not Socialism, but Fascism by definition.
What if instead of being swooned into a herd mentality by the golden tongue and 'coolness' of Obama, or driven further into the Neo Con stupidity by people like Sean Hannity, the American people showed more than knee jerk ideology or hero worship and actually listened to people like Ron Paul to begin with? Would we have had a 9/11? Would we have an economic crisis? Would we be headed for a depression like the one Obama's policies have set on the near horizon?

Brian: I agree with you in principle. The initial question is poorly worded. My original question had nothing to do with political parties as such. I simply tried to post the question as "What If?" But Yahoo must have a rule about two word questions so I had to expand it. My choice of wording was poor. The actual body of the question is more to my point. I do think people are easily fooled by politicians, regardless of party. It was the "cult of personality" and false "conservative" labels that I was trying to address.

Current politicians have no incentive to stop knee jerk reactions, if they did they would mostly be voted out of office.

I honestly don't think your average American supports a political party. they support candidates and lets face it most candidates (not all) that people support will likely come from the same party..
