It is highly doubtful as the division has been showing signs of being competitve as the Jets and Dolphins have come alive. The Patriots were the first team to go undefeated in the regular season since the Dolphins in 1972, the Dolphins won the superbowl but they also played less games. The Patriots were a dominant team and they had some help the last few games with controversial calls or most likely would not have gone undefeated at all. I do not see Tom Brady returning to form this season, he is getting older and suffered a major injury. I believe they will remain in the playoff hunt, but not quite dominant. Last season was a turning point for them. I am not convinced they would have done better with Tom Brady in as QB. Their offensive line was not able to hold like they did in 2007 and their defense struggled at times.

No. The Patriots are very good; but another undefeated regular season is something we may not see again for a long time.

In the modern era NFL, only the 1972 Dolphins ever went undefeated through the entire season and playoffs. Not until the 2007 Patriots did another team have an undefeated regular season; and of course they lost the Super Bowl.

There have been plenty of 15-1 and 14-2 teams; but going completely unbeaten is extremely difficult and rare.

They are 1 of 2 teams capable of going undefeated the Steelers could also go undefeated with such an easy schedule. In all honesty though the Patriots will probably lose to the Colts and maybe one of the NFC South teams and they could lose to one of the AFC East teams, but if this team stays healthy they will at least get 11 to 12 wins and win the division. Teams that host the Super Bowl never make the playoffs which means Miaimi will stink and the Jets don't have a quarterback despite an elite defense. The Jets will get one of the Heisman quarterback finalists in 2010 and become a playoff team then. The Bills could make some noise if they draft the right players. New England is the favorite to win the division, but like people have said on this board. They are not the juggernaut of this division anymore. The tables have turned as the Bills and Maybe the Jets are potential contenders in 2009.

Na man i'm sorry. No matter if Brady is back, the Patriots will not have another undefeated season. The League is finally starting to become even with so many teams getting good players and developing them. I think the Patrs will have 12 wins in 2009-2010.

No, want to know why? > They have 9 major contracts expiring (including Randy Moss) and several players due to retire. > They play the Chargers and the Colts on the road. There's 2 losses, and if my math is right, 2 losses won't give you an undefeated season. The Super Bowl doesn't count? Quit making excuses. You guys choked in the biggest game of their careers. Since when does the Super Bowl not count? You are a disgrace to the true Patriots fans.

Just because they pulled it off a couple seasons ago doesn't make it something that will happen on a regular basis.

Remember it was 35 years between the time they did it and the Dolphins did it back in 1972.

Don't count on any NFL team going undefeated for a good long time.

Especially if they make the season 17 or 18 games.

definitely not. Just because Tom Brady is back won't mean anything for the Patriots. Tom Brady probably won't be the great player he was although he will still continue to put up good numbers, he won't do anything amazing. He had torn an ACL or a knee. Those kinds of injuries will last forever. He just won't be able to move as well as he did before. No to this one there is at least a few teams that can beat them in the league.

No, unlikely. They did good this season really, just expectations are so high for that team.

Anyway, it's really hard to get undefeated (cause you get tired, start messing up, injuries, get to Superbowl, and die out), and the first week Tom maybe a bit rusty, actually everyone in the NFL will be. They were close to going completely undefeated, but you could see they got tired.

They have a good team, but as we saw, if one player goes bye, they start loosing up. Close to the playoffs though.

It's just not so likely, there are good teams now, and this draft will only help others. Plus their division is Jets (have had a good time with Free Angency and Dolphins, showing threats and Bills (WELCOME TO!).

    We'll just have to see.

No, I believe there is no possible way even though they have great players it is extremely unlikely they can go the whole regular season unbeaten. Also Tom Brady is one of the greatest QB in the NFL but you have to take into account that he is only one person among 10 others everyone has to play hard not just him.

As long as they get both lines back on track. That was their biggest problem.

They had trouble stopping the run and age keeps catching up on that D.

The AFC East is much better than it was in 2007. The Dolphins and the Jets are better teams. Even the Bills with a healthy Trent Edwards are better.
